Combat Extreme Fescue Grass Seed (Transition)

The grass is growing in a very tough area. Grass seems well-rooted in an area that we have been unsuccessful with in the past.

Seeds look healthy, however, I pre-sprouted these for three days before sowing and I had a low germination rate. I plan to direct sow in the fall when it’s cooler.

I read some of the bad reviews before I bought this grass seed, but chose to go with the good reviews and make the purchase. We planted in late April 2025. We had soil delivered so it was a complete seeding. It was watered everyday until seed germination. This took 2 weeks. The blades were tiny and just never seemed to mature, but the grass finally got a beautiful green and looked alright. It never got thick. We continued to water the grass when it got dry, but it still began to turn yellow and then brown. It is now July and the grass is pretty much dry and dead. I would not buy this seed again. Unsure if user error or not, bought this for my father who was just trying to fix up the grass. It came up okay, but did not last. Died withing 3 months.

I laid down new soil on top of this seed and watered twice a day. Only 20% germination at most. What a waste...do not buy!

I live in Hilton Head SC. We have 100⁰ summers and salt air and rain. This is year #2 and it just keeps getting thicker and greener.

Planted 2 week ago, so far some are growing others. I would have thought more would germinate based on the advertisement!
