Singing 101: Vocal Basics and Fundamental Singing Skills for All Styles and Abilities

I consider singing a superpower and it is definitely one I always wished I had. Unfortunately for me, I was not gifted with great voice, but since I love it so much, I decided to give this book a try. I love how she starts the book by setting the right expectations and also by eliminating any misconceptions about what singing is all about and who its for, thank you Nancy, that made me feel more comfortable. I also enjoyed how she breaks each chapter into easy to digest and follow lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I also love the 21-day action plan and the tips at the end of each chapter. It made me feel comfortable enough about having the basic knowledge needed to go take in-person lessons. The author also provided great exercise tracks on her website which are a must when going through the book. It left me craving for the follow on book that may help bring me to the next level.

This is a great introduction to the fundamentals of singing. Nancy has created a resource that will help students decipher some of the steps needed to become a better singer and gain confidence in their ability to use their voice.

This book was exactly what I needed. I understand my challenges now, and I'm definitely on my way. Thanks Nancy!

The book is written in easily understood language and gives very clear instructions. Following it should improve any reader's singing technique and ability.

Way too basic. Very dry. Maybe good for someone clueless. Suppose gotta start somewhere. First timers could use a little about singing

Not what I wanted

I play guitar and write songs, so I was advised to record some and get them out to see if anyone was interested in covering them.Well I am not the best singer and was told to either pay someone or put a decent vocal out myself. Well I bought this and another book and already I can feel the difference, maybe a lot of simple things but they definitely help make my voice presentable. I always believe the singer usually does the best version..it wont be in my case but it will let people hear how it was meant to sound.For a few pounds a great buy. I have written 2 reviews the same as I thought equally of both books.
