Hogue Govt. Model Rubber Grip Panel Checkered with Diamonds

Works great! I replaced my Sig 1911 carry Spartan's grips (which were Hogue grips also) with these. They fit perfect. They have a somewhat soft, rubbery grippy feel. They are checkered and look great on the pistol. They don't come with anything but the two grips, no mounting hardware, o rings, nothing else but the package and some paperwork (maybe directions? dunno, didn't bother to look). All my original stock mounting hardware worked with these grips, no issues. The fit was perfect, pistol functions properly as it did before. Less slippery now too, the original grips were smooth, these are much more adhesive to the hand. For the coin (about 16 bucks), don't think there's much better. If you want to preserve your original rosewood or stock grips, buy these, wear these ones out, buy em again, keep your originals in mint condition!

Fit perfect and work like they should. If you're new to firearms Hogue is a name brand and they've been around for years. They're not ebay knockoffs. They offered a solution to the S&W 3rd gen factory Xenoy (plastic) handgun grips of the 1990s and you will see a ton of those pistols wearing Hogue grips. They can add a bit of bulk on non 1911 pistols but they make shooting more pleasurable with certain calibers. They also offer wood grips for revolvers. Good company and product.

I usually don't write reviews, but i think this product deserves one. I already knew Hogue made a quality product, but this was my first personal experience buying and using one of their products. The grips are super easy to install, and a lot more comfortable than the standard smooth wood grips that are stock on most cheaper 1911s. I have a RIA tactical and they fit perfectly on the gun. They make it look better, and it feels better in the hand. It also has a great price. You'd pay about 2 to 3 times more in any gun store for something as simple as this. 5 stars without a doubt.

great looking grips for the money give the gun a more tactical feel and also slim the grip a very small amount, however the rubber that they are manufactured from can be slippery when held with sweaty palms, that being said its a big improvement over the pearl handles I had installed, plus they are inexpensive, and awesome for the range, all in all good product, would recommend to friend

There isn't much that needs to be said here. Hogue makes good products and I like these a lot. The important things are that these can fairly be described as slim grips, however they do not require shallow screws or bushings. If you've had other Hogue grips you might assume they're all chunky but not these. My gun came with wood grips and the screws were ever so slightly recessed into them where as with these the screws are ever so slightly raised now. Next, the color in the photos is a pretty good representation even on the crappiest monitors. They might be a touch darker in person and they certainly have a brown tint but in my opinion they are a perfect color. They are a few shades lighter than they grayish parkerized finish on my gun which makes them a perfect contrast. I am really glad I choose this color over the OD. I've seen the OD in person and it might be a touch too dark. The rubber feel is excellent. To me, it seems to be the right balance of softness. Since they are big chunks of sticky rubber hanging off the gun, I haven't had any issues with them grabbing clothing in IDPA matches and they give significantly better grip. Just last night I saw several sets of these in a shop where almost everything in the place looked over priced and they wanted $13.50 which I think is roughly what I paid and was the cheapest I could find here. I guess you can use that for a baseline as of 7/18/2011.

Fit perfectly on my Tisha’s 1911 A1. Original plastic grip cracked after 100 rounds!

These grips are excellent. They fit fine with the existing screws, and I didn't have to remove any material for the ambidextrous safety. There is a small gap at the bottom due to the type of mag well I have. It is held on by hooks that wrap around the bottom grip screw bushings. They are flexible enough to only leave about a 1/16 inch gap. Otherwise, they are great grips. They are a bit slimmer than the G10 grips that came on the pistol, which is fine by me, because I have short fingers. The rubber provides a firm grip without feeling tacky. They look great, too. I may purchase the pewter ones soon to give it some contrast.

Perfect fit for my 1911 A1, the grips have a rubber feel, not hard plastic. Would recommend.
