Perfect for crafting
I bought this for crafting. Lemme just say that first. But I am soo thrilled I did. A full size iron was just too big for my craft space and I didn't need a full size iron. This stores VERY nicely in my craft area. Its compact size is perfect. And I love/hate the extra long cord. What i love about a full size iron is the retractable cord. Of course this does not have it.But for my needs thus heats up quick and gets the job in faster time.I've been using it all week with no issues.

Steams well, heats well, good for travel
I returned this iron. It was ok, but I needed a bit bigger. I think for travel this would be a fine iron. Heats well, steams well, has a good point on front. Just not quite right for my particular needs. I do a lot of doll clothing. I decided to purchase another Rowena travel iron.

Handy Mini Iron for Quick Touch-Ups
The Steamfast SF-710 Mini Steam Iron is a really neat little gadget. I bought it primarily for travel and for quick touch-ups on clothes when I don't want to pull out my full-sized iron. For its size, it heats up surprisingly fast and produces a good amount of steam. It's super lightweight and easy to maneuver, which makes it perfect for getting into tight spots on collars or around buttons. It's definitely not meant for ironing a whole load of laundry, but for smoothing out wrinkles on a shirt before work or on a dress after unpacking, it's absolutely brilliant. The water reservoir is small, as expected, so you'll need to refill it fairly often if you have more than one or two items. But honestly, for its intended purpose as a mini iron, it does an excellent job!

It leaks and the handle is to small.
My husband bought this for me. I was planning to use it to steam open small seams when I sew 6 inch (or smaller) quilt blocks. The first time I used this iron, I filled the water reserve halfway with distilled water, plugged it in, turned the heat/material selection knob to the cotton setting, and waited for the iron to heat (with the pointed end standing straight up).The iron heated up, but the water started to leak out of the bottom. I placed the iron down on the ironing board, as if to iron, and it continued to leak. I immediately unplugged the iron and checked the water reserve lid, thinking that it was leaking from that, but it wasn't; it was from the bottom. I placed the iron on a metal tray and caught the rest of the water that flowed out of it. I let it cool down completely and filled the iron halfway again. I didn't plug it in and left it in an upright position on the metal tray. It leaked again. It doesn't hold water. The other thing I disliked about this iron is the handle. There is a button you push to flip up the handle when you need to use it, but the distance between the handle and the base is WAY to small to use when you iron. Also, your knuckles rub against the heat/material selection knob, which is directly UNDER the handle. The temperature settings changes while you are ironing.I gave it one star because it does work; I don't use the steam feature. I use water in a spray bottle. I also ducked taped down the heat selection knob to cotton only. I only use the iron to press quilting cotton. I do not recommend anyone to buy this iron and use it as it is listed; a travel iron.

Stopped working after 7 months
I loved this iron. I'm a quilter and have to do a lot of pressing seams. The iron heated quickly, was lightweight, long cord - perfect. BUT it stopped working after just seven months. I never put water in it. never dropped. I'm going to try another brand.

Works great
I really like this little iron. I'm a quilter and sewist and an RV'er. I purchased this iron to put in the RV for both clothing and fabric ironing. I love it. It heats up very quickly, has a dial with clearly marked settings (infinite spin, not ratcheted) and a foldable handle which really helps for stowage. I made a cinch bag for this iron and water cup as it does not come with a storage bag. I am not sure how much pressure the foldable handle can take but when I need to apply pressure (ironing seams flat) I use the area on both sides of where the handle attaches to the iron body to apply the pressure with my thumb and index finger. It works just fine, gives me good purchase and my clothes and seams come out perfectly. Great little iron.
