Excellent and up-to-date Immunology textbook
Book just received. Immediate perusal tells me book will be great with scholarly explanations and excellent illustrations. A very interesting element in the text are “Milestones” depicting historical occurrences in the rich field of Immunology. Only elements which could use improvement (in my opinion) in future editions would be a little more expanded glossary and index. The amount of pages in each of those two sections comes up short in comparison with an American Immuno text with a similar number of pages. However, the Roitt book has more tables and at least as many explanatory figures as the afore- mentioned comparison text. It seems more up-to-date as well, an extremely important feature for an Immunology textbook. I look forward to reading the Roitt book cover-to-cover to receive a contemporary update on this burgeoning field. Reasonable price for a new textbook as well.

Excellent Text
Exceptionally well written fundamental view of Immunology. Extensive descriptions, explanations, and analysis of the immune response. Highly recommended text for students, scientists, MDs at all levels who need to understand the immune system and its response to foreign entities.

A great resource for Immunlogy information
Quick and Simple, I have the 2004 version. This is an needed update in a growing field of interests for me. Get it!

I'm not qualified to rate this book...
I am not a medical professional or student. But I can say that this is an amazing classic of medical literature. Good writing, good illustrations, good online support with videos animations and audio. History and science well presented. The subject: vitally important and presented so a well educated person can grasp how truly miraculous life is.The book is data dense. Over 550 pages, large format. Small print.I've had it for a month and it continues to knock me over. Just open any section and read a paragraph or two.... so very well presented. Not pretentious. I think the writers appreciate the profundity of their subject.
