Functional Anatomy of the Vertebrates: An Evolutionary Perspective

Bought this book out of nostalgia, since vertebrate bio was one of my favorite subjects and this book goes into great detail despite being an older edition. Lesson learned from college - never buy new, it's highway robbery!! Got a used copy with slight wear (which was mentioned in the seller's description) for under $10. Couldn't ask for more.

This book is just superb for understanding how and why animal structures evolved as they did. Unfortunately, being published in 2000, it is a bit dated -- hopefully someone will make the effort of bringing it up to date with a new edition. But nevertheless, it is a valuable resource.

Very well written book that helps take the reader through the evolutionary history of vertebrates. Figures are no longer completely up to date with the latest research, but still a quality reference book. Be ready to be bogged down with details.

this book is easy to read and understand. my teachersnd classmates love it. though it is on the heavy side, then again most college books are.

I am so thankful I bought this book for my class! It's wonderful, and so far I have had zero complaints (this says a lot from someone as nit-picky as I am!)
