Amadeus - Director's Cut (Two-Disc Special Edition) by Warner Home Video

Picture quality and sound were excellent ín this Blu ray edition.

I am a sucker for Director's cuts, but this one actually disappointed me a bit. I had seen the theatrical cut many times and then bought this version. It was still enthralling, but the added harsh language and nudity didn't really seem to add to the story. In fact for me, I was in disbelief here and there to see in effect an R rated version of what had been a fairly family friendly movie. Both portray the magnificence of the composer, but this version is a bit more seedy.

Director's cut was very enjoyable.

I watched the Director's Cut and was totally amazed at how much was left out of the theatrical screening. So many components that gave the movie a richer telling of the story. Suffice it to say, the music was sublime. So many parts of this movie moved me profoundly. It was certainly worth the purchase.

The director's cut seems to be the only possible version to purchase, which is a real shame. The additional scenes do not advance the story in any significant way, and in fact they tend to detract from the overall story arc of the film in its theatrical version. A big disappointment.

Perfect condition, like brand new, but it was used. Worth every penny.

...of a length unconstrained by cinema timetables, and a world-class soundtrack (naturally) by WAM himself.Everything to like, nothing to dislike.
