I'm not sure what constitutes "high grade stainless steel", but this certainly isn't what one would expect of such a claim in terms of material weight or thickness. It's without question the thinnest, lightest weight stainless steel I've ever seen. But for essentially four bucks per bowl, we didn't really expect much and are very satisfied with the quality for what we paid. Both bowls arrived dented on the bottom, likely due to the thinness. But we were able to pop out the dents with a finger with ease. The rubber gasket, while not very grippy is a nice feature, possibly as much for protecting your hand from getting cut as is it for keeping the bowl from sliding around. But the rubber isn't secured to the bowl, so we se an application of superglue in the bowls' future.Again, these are extremely lightweight. Which was a plus for us, as it makes them easier to carry by a family member with severe rheumatoid arthritis. We use them for food only, which they're the perfect size for even large dogs. Our largest is over 100 pounds and according to the Vet, the pictured amount of dog food, served twice per day, is the recommended daily allowance for his size. Though we add a little wet canned food on top for his evening meal. As you can see in the picture, the bowls are large enough to hold two servings, if for some reason we needed to feed him only once per day.Anyone who keeps and feeds their dog(s) outside can attest that ants will find their way to the bowl, if left outside for more than an hour with food in it. They make anti-ant bowls of the same design as this, but costing over twice as much. All the ones I saw just appeared to have a rubbery pad affixed to the bottom of the center bowl, effectively lifting the sides off the ground, which forces the ants to crawl up from the inside bowl, back down the lip and back up again to get to the food. This seemed like a valid discouragement, but at the expense of making the bowl less stable. It seemed easy enough to fabricate something similar, with a wider footprint and potentially even more discouraging of ants climbing inside, so that's what I did using some 1 inch thick Styrofoam that I'd been saving, out of the packaging of something I'd bought at one point or another, for some odd craft I hadn't thought of yet. I also happened to have some industrial strength self-adhering Velcro left over from a previous DIY project.I cut the Styrofoam about 1 inch narrower than the widest part of the bowl, and smoothed it out and beveled it to keep loose pieces out of the house. Then I near completely covered the top of the Styrofoam with Velcro for two reasons. 1: so that you didn't have to perfectly line up the smaller piece of Velcro on the bowl every time you might remove the base for cleaning or stacking the bowls for storage. 2: the loops in the Velcro seemed like an added deterrent for ants to have to traverse. One inch thick Styrofoam raised the bowl about a half-inch off the patio, which was plenty for the tiny ants that we were trying to keep out. And this DIY fix has worked perfectly. Even leaving the bowls out all day with food in them, the ants haven't been able to find it, even though we can still see scouts crawling around, picking up morsels the dogs dropped.

I bought these because the bowls I had would slip and slide all over when my dog was eating. These ones don't slide around at all but were a little smaller than I thought they were going to be. It fits 1.5 cups of my dogs food with room for a little more. I use a different bigger bowl for her water so that I don't have to refill multiple times a day.

Was pleasantly surprised. The bowls are a lot bigger than I thought they'd be. Purchased them for my new puppy and thought, for the price, it didn't matter if they were small. She'll be using these for a long time. Not cheap or flimsy. She's a messy eater, and I'm so relieved she can't push them all over my kitchen making a big mess anymore.

The bowls are well shaped and fairly shallow. They are good for feeding cats - I have several cats that eat together from one bowl. The metal seems fairly thin but the bowls will serve the purpose. My only negative issue is the thinness of the metal. However, this does not keep them from being useful for feeding my herd of cats as they are shallow enough for them to comfortable eat from. My large dogs don't mind dining from them either. ;)

These stainless steel dishes are light weight, durable, and the rubber base prevents them from skidding across the floor. The dishes are also stackable and fit comfortably in the dog's travel bag, which I drop off at the dog sitter when I have business out of town. The bowls are dishwasher safe and are also very easy to clean by hand. I highly recommend these dishes for any medium-sized dog.

Nice light stainless dishes. The rubber bottoms make them non-slip and that is a bonus when the pupper goes to eat or drink. My only mistake was ordering some so small, little did I know my pupper would b already weighing in at 50lbs at 8 months old. Eeesh! Gonna need more dishes!

Not the thickest metal, but decent bowls. I’ve had one outside in the heat for a couple of months now (in the deep south) and haven’t even seen any cracking in the rubber around the bottom. Would buy again. If you want something heavy that your dog won’t push around, these aren’t for you. If you just want a regular dog food bowl and don’t want to spend a ton, these are perfect.

I bought these bowls on 17 May. In less than six weeks they are starting to rust. They're advertised as being made of "high grade stainless steel".I guess stainless steel is not what it use to be.
