Excellent Quality Silica Gel Packets—Perfect for 3D Printing Filament and More!
The Dry & Dry 20 Gram Blue Indicating Silica Gel Packets are a game-changer! These packets are incredibly effective at absorbing moisture, and the blue-to-pink color indicator is a genius feature—it lets me know exactly when they need to be recharged. I’ve been using them primarily to keep my 3D printing filament dry, and they’ve been amazing at preventing moisture-related issues like brittle filament or poor print quality. The 20-gram size is ideal for filament storage containers and works perfectly in my setup. Beyond that, I also use them for other items like electronics, camera gear, documents, and seasonal clothing. The fact that they’re rechargeable makes them both cost-effective and eco-friendly—just bake them in the oven, and they’re ready to use again! If you’re a 3D printing enthusiast or need reliable moisture control for sensitive items, these silica gel packets are a must-have. Highly recommend!

Keeps my hearing aids dry!
Last year I got new hearing aids. They have all kinds of new technology that really does make my life easier, but they are far more sensitive to moisture than my previous ones. On a visit to the audiologist for moisture repair, they told me I probably need a dry box. I checked into them. They are expensive and many make noise. I did a little research and decided to buy these and put them in a small mason jar with the open hearing aids at night. It's worked like a charm! These were inexpensive and reusable, my hearing aids work well, and my husband doesn't have to listen to a fan in our room. When I travel, I put a few in a lock n lock box and use that. I haven't needed any more repairs. After a month or more (depending on MN seasons), they start to turn pink and I put them on a vented pizza pan and bake them at 225 for 30-45 minutes. Some have been recharged several times because my husband has used them with his camera stuff. I can't tell which have been recharged based on the look or feel of the package. One caution is to put them somewhere airtight as soon as you take them out of the oven. The first time, I left them on top of the stove to cool in the summer and they absorbed moisture and turned pink again. Now, I just drop them into the original bag. They aren't that hot.

Silica packets work well, but the REACTIVATED ones don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones
UPDATED 2024-12-23 I've bought this product 8 times since 2019 because it works well (despite the REACTIVATION shortcomings detailed in my previous review), and I will continue to buy it as needed. ================= I would have assigned 5 stars if the REACTIVATED silica packets had lasted as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Unfortunately, they do NOT, so it means that, PRAGMATICALLY, I can use each packet only once, especially since the REACTIVATED silica packets would have to be REACTIVATED again and again after comparatively short times of use. Moreover, there seems to be a HUGE difference in the PERFORMANCE of randomly selected silica packets. I tested 4 (of 14) randomly selected BRAND NEW silica packets. I used the following test protocol: A. Test packets 1 and 3 were placed inside 2 IDENTICAL sealed containers [(i) and (ii)] within which the Relative Humidity (RH) was maintained at 100%RH at ambient temperatures between 60-65F. B. Periodically, over many days, I examined the color (BLUE <=> PURPLE <=> PINK) of the silica beads in each packet. C. As soon as Test packets 1 and 3 had turned from the original 100% BLUE (BRAND NEW) to 100% PINK (SATURATED), I REACTIVATED each packet (1 or 3) INDIVIDUALLY in a 1200 watt microwave oven (MW) for the number of minutes (MINS) and at the Power Level % (PL%) listed in the data below UNTIL the beads had turned from 100% PINK back to 100% BLUE. D. I then repeated A. and B. above with the REACTIVATED beads. E. Test packets 2 and 4 (which served as CONTROL), also at ambient temperatures between 60-65F, were placed in the open, ambient air adjacent to the 2 IDENTICAL sealed containers [(i) and (ii)] mentioned in A. above. The ambient Relative Humidity (RH) in the test room was approximately 35-50%RH at temperatures between 60-65F. Please note that the test data in the table below show that Packet#1 lasted 13 days (DAY13-DAY0) when BRAND NEW, BUT ONLY 3 days (DAY16-DAY13) and 5 days (DAY24-DAY19) after Packet#1 had been REACTIVATED, which means that the REACTIVATED silica packets don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Please note that the test data below also show that Packet#3 lasted 83 days (DAY83-DAY0) when BRAND NEW, BUT ONLY 21 days (DAY104-DAY83) after Packet#3 had been REACTIVATED, which again shows that the REACTIVATED silica packets don't last anywhere as long as the BRAND NEW ones. Most importantly, please note the HUGE difference in the PERFORMANCE between Packet#1 (lasted 13 days when BRAND NEW) and Packet#3 (lasted 83 days when BRAND NEW), which makes it extremely difficult to estimate how often one should replace a packet in a sealed chest. __________________________MW DAY__PACKET#_COLOR__PL% MINS__NOTES 0_____1,2,3,4____BLUE_____-____-____BRAND NEW 13____1________PINK______-____-____SATURATED 13____1________BLUE_____20__18____REACTIVATED 13____2________BLUE_____-____- ____CONTROL 16____1________PINK______-____-____SATURATED 16____2________BLUE______-___-_____CONTROL 19____1________PINK______- ___-_____SATURATED 19____1________BLUE_____30__17____REACTIVATED 19____2________PURPLE___- ___-_____CONTROL 24____1________PINK______-____- ____SATURATED 24____2________PURPLE___-____-_____CONTROL =============================================== 83____3________PINK______-____-____SATURATED 83____3________BLUE_____30___8____REACTIVATED 83____4________BLUE _____-____-____CONTROL 104___3________PINK______-____-____SATURATED 104___4______50% BLUE___- ____-____CONTROL

Edit: After about 1 month of using them, I realized these don't work at all. See the video in the review. I have other dessicant bags from the same company that I bought a few years ago. The old ones are working fine. I have been using them and reactivating them over and over in the last years and they work fine. So I decided to but more of the same brand, in order to protect my very expensive camera gears. However I did some testing and these new dessicant bags just don't work. For testing, I put a dessicant bag inside a freezer bag with a wet towel in it. I let it bezide a window. I could see the condensation inside the freezer bag. After over a week, the dessicant bag was still blue, meaning it didn't absorb any if the humidity. The entire freezer bag was full of condensation. Yesterday I added a dessicant bag from those I bought years ago..... From the same brand... The next day, the older dessicant bag had turn pink, a proof it is working. The new batch was still blue, thus not working at all. I am very sad about, I will be returning the current bags as they don't work. ----------------------- These are the best. Easy to see which ones need to be replaced. With its transparent bag and the obvious difference between a functioning unit and a spent one, you will be able to judge at first glance which one need to be replaced. In the past, I bought other brands. They have semi-translucent pouches and only a small percentage of the beads where made to change colour when spent. Even brand new it was hard to see through the semi-translucent bag. If you used it in a jar of a powdered product to keep it dry, often the pouch will be too opaque to be able to see the spent units. With this item and its transparent pouches, there is no guessing or hesitation in judging the state of the unit. Also they are very easy to recharge. I put mine in a shallow aluminum dish and put them in the oven. I set the oven for the lowest possible heat, then leave it for a few hours. After that they are recharged and ready to be used again. This way they will last for a very long time.

They did arrived already pink (so full of humidity): a chance that we can condition them again! The little packets are very thin and small and can be put everywhere. I use them for my underwater camera ( put severals in the casing) and they work just great.

Works great, we even use them in the bags with the specialty filaments for the 3D printers and pen and with electronics when kayaking. Many, many uses.

These work as intended, have not tried drying the packets out yet, but im sure they will work as intended.
