Balanced, comfortable, quality hammer
Well balanced quality hammer. No complaints! The rubber handle is nice if you need to smack something in place real quick without damaging it, and you can remove nails carefully without damaging cheap pine furniture too.

Grandpa's Hammer
This is Great Hammer that will last decades with proper care and maintenance. I grew up in a builder/construction family and this is the hammer my grandpa used for 20 years or more I wish I still had the the original. Two hammer company's that were always most used and dependable were Vaughan and Estwing because they do a job well and last a long time. Lately I've been organizing my tools and upgrading some of them, so I noticed I didn't have a good medium size hammer, I have been using a workpro 10 oz. hammer for odd jobs around the house and a Vaughan 21 oz. Hammer for heavy duty jobs. I wanted something in the middle and I knew I wanted Estwing so I went with the 16 oz Curved Claw with Smooth Face, The smooth face so it won't mar whatever i'm working on and claw to give that extra prying power. The 16 oz. is perfect for control and accuracy and the metal tang means you don't have to change the handle or have a loose/wobbly hammer head. The grip is a comfortable, the plastic/rubber is very durable of course if you abuse it and use the handle to pry or scrape rough objects it's going to deteriorate and break apart, I have seen people completely wreck their tools using them in idiotic ways. The only disappointment was the Estwing Logo is NOT yellow, it's just engraved in the handle with no color added and that is not how I grew up with the logo looking, it was always yellow letters on a blue handle, I think you can still find it in some models but I'm not going to hunt it down so I'm just enjoy it for what it is. Made in the USA and at 16 oz you can do light to heavy work all day with this and it won't let you down for a lifetime. I added a pic with my vintage Stanley 6oz. ball peen hammer next to the Estwing 16oz.

Nice Little Hammer
I needed a smaller hammer for around the house. Looked at other brands, but again settled on Estwing. The 12oz size is great for smaller projects around the house, and very solid construction so you can beat away confidently. Fairly comfortable handle for moderate use scenarios. There's probably more comfortable hammers for hammering 8 hours straight per day, but I mostly need it for a few whacks here and there. These hold up really well. The 12 oz size is great for hanging a few pictures, or driving a few nails in the house. Not really a heavy demolition hammer or framing hammer. Love it.

Best Hammer
NYTimes Wirecutter said this was the best hammer. They were right. I was surprised at the difference in the quality compared to a regular hammer.

This is not a clubby hammer
I like the weight, comfort of the handle, and the way it feels in my hand. I worked as a carpenter for many years Estwing makes great products

Superman is the Only Guy Who Could Bend One in his Bare Hands...
A person can own a lot of tools, but it takes years to develop that special relationship one has with a hammer. You tend to remember all the things you built with it ---and associate those things with that particular hammer. For most of my life I owned a Belknap Blue Grass hammer with an octagon shaped hickory handle. It felt SO good to me that I went out and bought an identical hammer just to keep as a spare. I thought I was fixed up for life in the hammer department! Then one terrible day, BOTH hammers were stolen from me. Now I ask you: What sort of thief steals BOTH of your hammers? Don't get me started... The Belknap company went out of business and I could not get my hands on another of the same kind. I actually mourned those hammers in the same way that one mourns a friend who is not replaceable. I did have some POS hammer (with a head I hated and and an eternally loose handle.) I held on to that hammer for many years---cussing it (and that hammer thief) every time I picked it up. Then, when the time finally felt right, I bought this Estwing 16 oz curved claw hammer----a few ounces lighter than my beloved 20 ounce Belknaps---perhaps in recognition of my diminished arm strength. The Estwing swings good! I no longer build whole buildings these days, but I have knocked off a few smaller projects with the Estwing and am actually becoming fond of it. It does not transmit the shock of a hammer blow up your arm. The fine claw is capable of grabbing at any nail that hasn't been pounded below the surface. It looks pretty nice too. Superman would have a hard time getting the head of this hammer to loosen from its shaft---its all of a piece. Of course, only he could bend it in his bare hands. While the Estwing doesn't make you feel like leaping from a tall building in a single bound, it will allow you to build and maintain one... in great style.

Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread.
Greatest thing since sliced bread. Best & most force per swing, best ergonomics, greatest handling, fastest in use and most controllable hammer made. By far. Dewalts a distant second. If I rated, Estwing 100%, DeWalt 90%, Cresent, 80%, Husky, others 75%, Milwaukee 60%. Also, most durable, rugged and best made. Again 100%, compared to Milwaukee at barely 60%. All Estwings in a class by themselves.

Item arrived quickly and exactly as described. Would definitely buy this hammer if you are a fan of Estwing and need a hammer for small jobs around the house. Would buy from this seller again in the future.

Il martello è fatto bene ed abbastanza bilanciato. Estwing penso sia leader sui martelli, il fatto che sono forgiati gli dà un valore aggiunto. Un martello per chiodi non troppo grossi, consigliato.

I purchased this hammer as needed a new one to carry out some repairs on the roof of my house. In conjunction with a snickers hammer holder attached to my snickers trousers this hammer has been used for erecting scaffolding and then the repairs on the roof so have used it on scaffolding, driving a nail bar, pulling nails, driving nails and carrying around in a hammer holder attached to my snickers trousers. The hammer has been perfect for all these applications. Its comfortable in the holder, the grip is perfect, the weight has been perfect for this range of applications. Its also a lovely looking hammer in appearance. It feels robust and well made. Im sure it will last for many years to come.
