This machine does amazing work, once it is properly set up.
This machine arrives in mostly functional state, however go on youtube and you can learn learn how to set this machine up. There are a few moving parts on the machine that might need some observation to make sure they move freely. If any parts bind or rub they can be adjusted with washers at pivots to give rubbing parts some travel clearance. Use nylock nuts on some of these bolts, so they do not come apart as some bolts are there as pivots and not designed to be fully tightened. Many of the nut and bolt sizes are M6-1.0 Metric.Once you have the moving parts moving free and clear, then you should mount the machine on a wood pedestal riser and mount pedestal riser on a nice big flat piece of wood with rubber feet. Enough to clear the hand crank. Make sure machine is stable when cranking. Also lubricate all contact and pivot points with oil.The next thing to make sure is to know how to verify and possibly set the 'timing' if needed. This involves setting the rotating bobbin hook to swing right past the threaded needle, just as the needle goes to full depth and begins to go back up. Then learn to route the thread through the machine and set the thread tension. There are many youtube videos showing everything I have mentioned above. Once it is set up, it is an amazing machine! I have sewn through very thick material with zero issues. This machine is not 100% 'plug and play' but if you have the patience and some fabrication skills to set this machine up, you will have a machine that easily does what machines many times this price point can do. :-)

Overall I'm pleased
Overall i would buy this again if needed. It is shipped covered in oil. Some of the edges are sharp and will cut you, i know that for a fact. After wiping it down i had to fine tune it. My stitches from the machine looks like hand-stitching which is sweet and the look I want. There is no skipping stitches. I can stitch through 2 layers of 5 to 6oz chrome tan leather

Did nit work, no good manual or support available!
Could not get it to allow both needle and foot to rise at the same time. Watched every YouTube video that I could find, did complete disassembly and reassembly as shown on YouTube, all to no avail ! There was no successful phone support available! The stand was wobbly and to short to be on any use!

On the fence…
The media could not be loaded. This product came in good packaging however, the base plate was square-ish and the feet are round. I cannot use the base plate. I have requested another one. I hope to use it when I get the base plate. Will update my review then.***Update: I was sent a new machine and was faced with the same problem. The base is square-ish and the legs are round. I really like this machine and want to keep it but Amazon cant send me JUST another base and feet. I am not versed in manipulating this metal. So bummed!

Excellent After
Even though I think this is an excellent sewing machine I gave it a 4 because of all the special attention I had to give it to realize that excellent status. This machine has been review by many others and I agree it comes well packaged but dirty and burred. It took a lot of disassembly, cleaning, scouring, wire brushing, scrubbing, filing, and buffing. Then reassembly, lubrication and tuning. The end result is a smooth running, reliable variation of the venerable Singer small bobbin 29K. This one came with cast aluminum frame the appeared to be powder coated. I've been using it for several weeks now and if anything it is smoother and easier to hand crank than ever. So easy in fact I wonder why there are those who want to add an electric motor. I appreciate the extra control I get due to the slower speed. expect to get years of use from this machine and my time preparing it will allow me to service it.

Looked good at first
I did not expect a great machine out of the box but I got my hopes up after initially getting it unpacked. Everything looked really clean, no rust or major sharp areas. The screw that holds the plate over the bobbin sticks up some, but I expected that. A few rough or sharp edges, but very minor compared to what I expected. Then I moved the bobbin cover plate and all my hopes were dashed. A severe amount of rust/ corrosion under the entire plate and in the bobbin housing area. What I was hoping would a simple clean up of grease and minor edges I now know will take me quite a bit of time to get cleaned up. Now I am dreading seeing the remaining interior parts that are not visible. Oh well, I expected to put some work into this machine, but was not expecting the amount of rust and corrosion I found inside of it.
