it works great at keeping cold air out. would’ve been 5 stars except for the price. that’s a lot for what is essentially just a big magnet. but I would still recommend it if you have the same issue with your gas fireplace

I love how easy it works and sticks well. I do wish it was offered in a 36x8 size. I have a weird fireplace with a curved vent on the front and a seem pretty far apart. The 36x6 can’t cover the entire top half venting.

This product is durable and great to keep the cold draft at bay. However, there isn’t a hole or anything to go over the draft handle. Do you cut one or what do you recommend? Thank you

Finally, light dawns on marblehead. After 18 months and two winters in our home, we realized why the family room was always cold. It was the warm air escaping up the flue of the gas insert fireplace (which can’t be closed due to the pilot light.) About the same as leaving a window open all winter long. Then found your magnetic covers that could be placed over the upper and lower vents. They fit perfectly, look great and work exactly as advertised to stop heat loss up the flue and to stop the cold down draft back into the room. So easy to remove when the fireplace is in use. If you’re not using these, dollar bills with wings are flying up your chimney!

We have a wood burning fireplace. When we aren’t using the fireplace and the damper is closed and the wind is blowing the cold air leaks into the house. We looked for a cover to stop this problem and we couldn’t find anything that we liked. I came across this product that this was very easy to put on and the fireplace. We put this around the fireplace and it took my husband about 10 minutes to about to put it on it works good enough to stop the cold from coming into the house, and it doesn’t distract from the fireplace. It is very easy to use compared to other things we were looking at using, and it wasn’t costly.

The product does a good job reducing the draft from the damper being partially open for the pilot light. I like that it blends in with the fireplace screen color such that it is not noticeable unless you know it is there and you are looking for it. One caution, do not attempt to install it on hot fireplace (just turned off) - the vents are too hot and the magnetic material may soften/melt. I briefly touched a corner to the hot vent to test - and I noted the softening so I waited till cool. Overall, a good product that is simple and effective. There are probably more insulating type of barriers, but this is unobtrusive, simple, and effective for what is being asked of it.

These covers were rolled together and the inner cover has stress lines on the entire cover. They did unrool easily. The shiny side stuck to my refrigerator, dull side with lines did not stick. Was thinking of a more attractive cover without mars and a stronger hold. Your catch phrase being Innovative Solutions, as if you created these covers, what is your recommendation or do you have other inventions to consider?

Worked like a charm. We have a pretty strong draft coming from the base of our gas fireplace. We were looking up solutions and this came up. Once we placed it over the metal base we felt a significant change in the temperature. The draft isn't as noticeable anymore, you can still feel a very faint draft, but leaps and bounds better than what it was before we used draft stopper. Would definitely recommend!
