before the installation of the shift shaft seal, my van would leave puddles daily. The whole trans pan was wet so it seemed as though the fluid was coming from everywhere. After thorough cleaning and watching I could see the first drop accumulating at the shift linkage which is away from the pan. My first seal was not installed right; I think there was some rust/dirt around the hole or shaft. The second one did the trick.. Use the seal removal tool that allows you to remove and replaced the seal without damaging the case or shaft. trans has been dry for weeks now.

it worked perfectly on my 98 Chevrolet 1500 with a 4L60E transmission... I would suggest that you also get the tool, "Schley Products Transmission Seal Remover/Installer Gm, PN - ‎SL96480" It makes the job so much easier.

I bought this because another reviewer said how superior to the sfk brand it was & that it was made in the U.S. & he showed pics. This is clearly marked made in Taiwan and is half the thickness of the one he shows in his review. Needless to say I am disappointed on both accounts and probably won't even use it in my TH400.
