Not bad but not good - keep away
Most designs I saw on Amazon for Helping Hands are similar to this item. The price was good and went to buy this. Should have spent more and got better one from standard manufacturers like Weller. Bought it so work on an amplifier project.The assembly was a pain due to the kind of joint accessory supplied. Two plates with two holes to accommodate the ball head of the two parts (main body to horizontal arm, horizontal arm to clips) with a screw and wing nuts. Once fitted the horizontal arm sags under the weight of the PCB just 75mm x 50mm or so with few components, not so heavy.The soldering iron holder is loose in its place however tight the screw to hold it is.The plastic head of the screw that holds the horizontal arm to the main body is so close to soldering iron that a slight movement can melt it.Construction quality is poor with sharp edges. One screw already sheared. Serves the purpose if you do not use it often. Else look for good quality stuff from reputed manufacturers.
