It looks like you have a range of answers from the responses. I measured it and to the swivel on the thread part it's 7.5" and to the rod itself it is 7 5/8". I think you can expect 7.5" maximum depth of the throat.

How much force can this clamp apply?

Not for severe clamping, as it tends to bend. But for light clamping work it's fine.

What is the height or length of the screw bolt?

The threaded section of the bolt is 4 3/4 inches long and the swivel is an additional 3/4inches which equals 5 1/2 inches, but the non threaded which hold the handle section is which is and additional 3/4 inches. The "total length" is 6 1/4 inches long. A good buy!
