Transformers Generations Titans Return Autobot Hot Rod and Firedrive

I speak from a place of a Hot Rod/Rodimus Prime fanatic. I own at least one of every mold of this character released throughout the years. So, when I say this figure is extremely solid, it means a lot.Positives: Extremely sharp looking vehicle mode. Easy and smooth transformation (no line it up just perfect/click it in place, and hope it doesn't pop loose again delimas). Bright bold coloring. Fine detail work. The face is possibly the best one other than MP-09.Negatives: The arms are comically huge with tiny posts as shoulder joints which cause the arms to stick out too far.I would mention how blocky the chest seems, but have found that you do not need to fold the front bumper underneath the chest, and this streamlines the appearance greatly (and makes him look a lot more like the G1 figure).Bonuses: The two guns join together in order to make a cannon that can be placed in the engine block exactly like the G1 figures. This cannon also allows a seat for the headmaster robot, in addition to the driver's seat being open for one as well. Definitely have the Ptero head master piece displayed with this guy.While I have a problem with the arms, I still rate this guy 9.5/10. Not perfect, but far superior to many recent releases and better than most of the previous releases. A proud addition to my collection.

This is a fantastic figure. His alt mode oozes with G1 awesomeness but also has a sleek, modern feel to it. Both his modes are fantastic, but in my opinion, the vehicle mode the better of his two modes. The transformation is fun and intuitive. In robot mode his head and face are pure Hot Rod. Nice rounded shape to the head with a very great face mold. The chest has an engine in it with a great shape going to the pivoting waist. His thighs are proportionate and not short and stocky like so many today are. The calves are larger but don't effect the look and finish off the leg quite well. Steady feet with a balancing heal spur to help keep him upright. Main (and only) complaint I have for the whole figure is the large shoulders. They limit posability and they almost completely cover his spoiler almost ruining his profile. Other than that, I couldn't recommend this figure enough. He can easily replace that old Classics Hot Rod that has been in peoples collections for years. Or, it would make a great enjoyable toy for your child.

Titans Return is one of the best Transformers lines to date, and this updated Hot Rod figure is awesome! If you remember the original movie, and are an old collector like me, this is perfect. Also very cool that they made these into headmasters as well. Transformation isn't too complicated, and it looks great in either mode. Highly recommended!

Love it! I had a Generations Hot Rod, and it wasn’t nearly as flexible or poseable as this one! Do I wish he wasn’t a headmaster? Sorta, I don’t really like the gimmick, but if you can get around that then he’s a great Hot Rod! Did I mention the alt mode is sweet as heck? Just like the 1986 Movie!

My son was so excited to receive this toy from “Santa.” It looks exactly as the picture. No problems thus far. These toys don’t tend to last very long but this one seems more durable than the others I’ve purchased in the past.

This is definitely the figure I have been waiting for. It's the first Hot Rod figure in my collection and it does a fantastic job capturing the character. I do wish they would have put more paint on the head master guy. Throw some red on there, it's Hot Rod for cybertrons sake! The transformation is very easy and that is fine. The figure looks great in both robot and vehicle mode.

My 6 year old loves this toy. Transformation is sturdy, not too delicate. it is easy to lose the head, so make sure when not in robot mode, the head (transforms into a tiny robot) is placed in the cock pit. Everything is ball joint so it will loosen up with time. Once transformed it stays in car mode, doesn't fall apart because it is loose.

This guy just feels right. I don't own either of the masterpiece figures of Hot Rod, but I feel like they sorta fail where this one succeeds. The transformation is straightforward and seeing him in vehicle mode for the first time made me smile and say "there you are". I finally feel like we have the Hot Rod we've deserved all this time. Could use more paint on robot mode though...
