NOVETE Battery Charger, Universal Overheat Protection Fast Charger & Discharger with LCD Display & Auto Switch Off for Rechargeable Batteries, Such as AA/AAA/SC/C/D/9V/Ni-MH/Ni-CD/Remote Batteries

I bought this to replace a very old Duracell charger. I have used it only sparingly so far but am generally pleased with its performance. I have several smaller chargers for AA and AAA batteries as well as 9v. I purchased this one primarily for C and D batteries. I tried it on both and it performed well. I especially like that it can charge an odd number of batteries since my two main flashlights use 3 D-cell batteries. As to speed, it charged them at least as fast as the old charger. Charger never warmed up; the C-cell batteries did warm at the end of the cycle but no more than normal. The D-cells I use are AA in D casings so they never feel warm. I used the discharge function once and it appeared to work. During the discharge cycle, no batteries start charging until all batteries are fully discharged. I will update further as I use it more.

The unit I received seemed okay for AA & AAA batteries, but did not work for 9V batteries (I tried two brand new NiMh batteries); the red charging LED never turned off (it is supposed to take < 12h and I left the batteries in for 30h+). I sent a message to the seller, but still have not heard back from them (almost 4 days). I returned the unit.---Update 2/14/2017:Novete sent me new charger free of charge, but it turned out to behave the same way (the red LEDs for the 9V never turns off, even though the manual says that they should when the battery is charged). I asked Novete and they checked with the manufacturer, who responded: "for 9v batteries, the LED light turns on and will NOT go out, and the charging time should be counted according to the capacity of the battery, the calculating method is dividing the capacity by 25." So for 200mAh the charging time is 8h.I am raising my review to 3 stars for the charger (it really ought to tell you when the charging is done).I would give Novete as a company 5 stars for their service and willingness to help!

This item is fantastic! It charges all shapes and sizes of batteries extremely quickly. The indicator shows the life of the battery so that you know how long you have to wait, or whether or not you need to discharge it, which, this item is capable if doing as well. It's small and looks nice so its quite unobtrusive. I highly recommend this product. Rechargeable batteries are expensive but will save you tons of money in the long run, especially if you use batteries as much as my family does.

Bought this device along with some rechargeable C batteries. Charged them up and they work well. The inside clips are strong and held the batteries in place as expected. It is precisely an universal charger and performs well for the type of batteries that I purchased.

I like that it shows the level of each battery. It charged three aaa in a couple of hours.

I live in hurricane country (Florida) so in addition to a generator I have a healthy supply of rechargeable batteries. My problem has always been that no one charger would do all size batteries and I couldn't mix sizes together while charging. I needed one charger for everything and the ability to mix sizes. I have been using this charger constantly since it arrived. I am totally pleased with it. The thing even has a discharge mode for questionable batteries. The absolute best part is the little manual they include. Unlike most imported products, this little manual was written by someone with a good understanding of the English language. It is well written, short, to the point and easy to understand the message they are trying to get across. The price may be a bit high but you get what you pay for.

I have several older rechargeable batteries and was very pleased to see that this charger was able to tell me which ones had charging issues and were no longer able to be recharged. My other charger did not do that. So, I am very happy with this charger. I would recommend this item to anyone needing a charger.

I was very hopeful about this charger, since it was supposed to be able to charge odd numbers of batteries, and it seems that most of the things I use take 3 batteries. Unfortunately, the unit did not work properly. The discharge light never came on, and though I tried several batteries, I could not get any to fully charge. The code for complete never appeared on the LCD display, and checking the batteries with a battery tester, after an overnight charge, showed them without a complete charge.I'm returning the unit for a refund. Actually, I'd have preferred a replacement, but it wasn't offered. I may or may not give it another try, but that remains to be seen.
