Sureseal Sureseal-2 Inline Floor Drain

Love this product, saved us so much money from having to tear up our basement concrete floor when we found out we didn’t have a P trap in our basement shower and there was a smell starting to come from it. Totally eliminated the smell. Very happy, would recommend.

I have an older version of this, used @ may laundry room/ water heater room. I needed to add a drain under my dishwasher for emergency (it's leaked twice!) water channel. When I was cutting the floor to install the drain, I could feel the airflow into the house from the crawlspace (sealed). This device prevents that backflow of air coming into the living area of the house, but yet will let water weigh down the trap door and release it below. It met the code requirements. A great solution.

I bought this for my laundry room slop sink. We have septic and this drain cover keeps the fumes at bay in our less often used drain!. Then I purchased another for our son as a gift. His washer drains into the sink. This covers when needed and releases upon necessity when the washer drains. Love it!

This works great....however it only worked great for 4 months (this is why i downgraded from 5 stars to 3) For 40 bucks it should last longer. Anyway after 4 months the smell came back. I tried to clean it but it still let the stink in. Ordered a new one and now stink is gone. We'll see how long this one lasts.

This same product from Sureseal was $75 at the local supply store. I love supporting local businesses when I can, but this was $25 from Amazon. Same item. Once installed, it does what it's supposed to do - prevent the floor drain from backing up into our laundry room. Obviously it's not a substitute for the real problem (Unclogging our sewer line) but in the meantime, and in case we ever get a sewer line clog again, at least it doesn't flood up into our laundry room floor. The one way valve does slow the flow of water down INTO our floor drain, but this I am OK with.
