Fantastic light that really deserves 5 stars
I buy myself a new flash light once a year depending upon what I find on sale or special I might buy 2. This year I set about looking for the light and had made my mind up that I wanted to find a little more substantial light that could get into the teens as far as lumens go. And I found it and I bought it. Though it wasn't cheap it still wasn't a Ledlenser. It has the power I wanted and the battery capacity to support using the light more that 8 minutes.I have always wanted a Ledlenser but another year was going to pass before my flashlight 2022 purchase. So a Ledlenser was going to have to wait yet again. But then a thing happened and I noticed the P7r signature. I was thrilled that it read to be 2,000 lumen and had a lot of nice features. The rotating switch manages all of those features nicely. That keeps the power button free to be a power button, nice idea. The more I read, which wasn't much, but I didn't need much more anyway. It's a signature for my first Ledlenser and I forked out the money. So within a couple of days I shelled out over five hundred dollars on 2 lights. That is the only reason I marked it down a couple of stars is the light at it's price is a bit much for most people. Well I am very happy to have finally gotten a Ledlenser and I am completely satisfied even with the price. That price is beyond the budget for most people's needs and that is the only loss of stars, not to me I give it full stars. Yes the rotating switch is programmable and it is a little complex. But I found a way to simplify the programming problem. Leave it alone and enjoy the factory pre set settings. The beam focus, the quality of the light produced, and the feel when carrying it, just feels well made.I will say it's the best 2,000 lumens I have seen yet. Last year's light is 3,350 lumen, and the Ledlenser P7r signature washes it out. Very enjoyable light and I have shown it off to a few friends now and my firefighter buddy likes this better than anyone that he has seen or has had as a work flashlight. So he'll be another Ledlenser customer. Worth every penny to me.

In my opinion, this is not a $200+ product
I’m a fan of most of Led Lenser’s products, but this did not meet my expectations. 2000 lumen boost mode for 10 seconds is great, but then it reduces to 1200 lumens sustained for 2 hours. So essentially it’s a 1200 lumen torch. I’d feel that it would be worth the $200+ if it would reduce to 1500 lumens. I was afraid to drop it due to its housing seeking like it would scratch easily if it fell on asphalt or concrete. The focus was also disappointing to me. It did not produce as pinpoint of a beam as I expected. I have a $40 Coast that has a better focusing system. I also wish Led Lenser would offer some sort of high lumen product with a tail switch. A flashing is not as convenient for me without a tail switch. So yeah, not a $200 product in my opinion.

amazing
brightest flashlight i have ever handled. battery life lasts hours of use. but it could have beeb a better if it used the USB C for charging because once you lose / damage the charging cable, you would have to purchase another, which we are unsure if it will be kept in production

Expected more value at this price point
1200 continuous lumens but the price of triple lens 3000 lumens bigger unit. The rotary switch is promoting the various strobe patterns that I found not useful. No easy way to reprogram to intensity levels. At this price point it should include BT and smartphone connectivity for reprogramming, like the headlamp (another model). Right now the rotary switch will be not used much, but that was the whole point of getting this flash light over the i18. It also uses larger battery 21700 (not easy to find), however adapter for 18650 is NOT included. So no Bluetooth and no popular lithium battery adapter for longer runs. Boost power lasts 10 sec only. When put in vertical position on high (a lower than boost power) it will heat up significantly and might be not comfortable to hold without a glove. I think the same will happen when bare hand holding, since the ‘thermal control’ is enabled all the time. It feels like 170F by touch. In this weather might be ok, but in Summer only medium settings will be possible to hold for more than 20-30 minutes due to heat. They missed to include handle that would solve the problem or place heatsink along the tiny body of this light.
