In the clearing stands a boxer and a fighter by his trade
This is a great minifig. I can think of a couple of things I might have tried to do differently if I'd designed it, but I can't think of a way I could have actually accomplished those things successfully.On a positive note, the headgear is awesome, and the head is double-sided with two faces printed on it -- so that you can choose the pictured face to be showing, or a bruised and battered face. The printed torso and legs are very nice. The boxing gloves are hand pieces unto themselves, which plug directly into the arms. That means they aren't pieces that clip over the hands, or any such thing. That's something I'd have liked (Because pulling hands out of the arms is a minor inconvenience when you want to put them onto a different minifig's arms), but on the other hand (Heh) I appreciate that this way they totally encompass the "hands"... and you can't hold anything with a boxing glove, anyway. I'd also have liked a separate boxing champion belt piece that fits around the minifig's waist... but I don't think one could be made that would fit the waist without slipping off to fall around the figure's feet. So, good design decisions on LEGO's part.

This is my favorite minifig!
The Boxer is one of my favorite minifigs so far: I love how you can rotate the face so he has one of two expressions while playing. One expression is cocky and the other has a black eye and an "uh oh" expression. I initially opened the package to check on the quality (excellent condition and all the parts are there). I started playing this minifig against my lizard man minifig and now I wish I had ordered two of them so I can keep one since this is a Christmas present.The package arrived safely, small enough to fit in my locked mail box. The Lego minifig packaging was sealed back nicely, but you could still tell it was opened to check which figure was inside of it since the cut mark flapped loosely above the glued portion (if anyone cares about that sort of thing as a gift giver).I wish I had bought two of them! I want one for myself.
