I loved the product because of its small form factor and sleek design. With my Crucial P3 1TB NVMe SDD it worked quite well and the max speed it reached was quite fast. CrystalDiskMark showed 1010MBps SEQ1M read speed and 950.47MBps Write speed which is quite nice. Even Windows file copying dialog showed somewhere reaching 710MB per sec mark quite often.However two cons I found. One is it doesn't have proper mounting standoff as the supplied one had a longer screw which feed through bottom of the chassis and doesn't have enough room to mount the SSD. However its not the main issue as you can slide it through the enclosure and it keep the SSD intact inside of it. The main con of this product is, because of no heat radiator, it gets very very hot when transferring large files. Needed some external cooling while transferring large files. But more or less I liked this product because normally I use it for backing up important files and happy to keep that on on external heat radiator for the time being.So in terms of speed performance I am/was quite happy to order 2nd time for another spare 1TB same NVMe I had, but this time seller has disappointed and that's why two stars. It was an used / replacement product came in original packaging but with missing parts. No USB C to C Cable, no screws, no screw driver for opening the enclosure and no stand off. Also there are slight scratches on the enclosure and looks like it was being used before.

This MFun M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure Adapter has worked perfectly to host a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB NVMe M.2 drive. This setup is many times faster than the external USB HDD it has replaced. I use it with an Acer laptop running Windows 10 via USB-C to USB-C. It shows up like a regular drive. The speed is amazing, 100MB/sec is pretty standard for my set up.Installing the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD only took a few minutes. It runs cool, only when it’s being used constantly does it warm up. It’s super light-weight and fits perfectly in my laptop bag. Overall I am very happy with how easy it is to use and the performance it provides.

[UPDATE 1-22-2021] After using this enclosure, having it plugged into my PC, I noticed it randomly pops open a new instance of my file explorer. Happen several times a day. Just like what happens when you plug in a new usb drive. But this enclosure does it on it's own. No clue why. Not like there are settings for this thing. And I an not going to turn off that option on my PC just because of this drive. Not the end of the world, but very annoying. So sadly, minus another star. No other drive I have used has done this, and I have used quite a few, including other SSD enclosures. [/UPDATE]Original review...Been moving to all SSD lately so this enclosure comes in handy. Everything you need is included in the box. Just need to provide your own SSD drive. I installed a 1TB NVME drive and it as simple install and works exactly as it should. Transferred some zip files, little over 12 GB and it ran a steady 350 mbs. That was on my hub, so might get even more speed from another port on my PC. Also nice it comes with a USB-C cable and standard USB cable.Sadly there were NO instructions in the box. Argh. Minus 1 star. Yes, it is not that complicated, but show you care about your customers by giving them instructions.Enclosure is well built enough and it looks good. Would recommend, just don't expect any assembly help in the box.

I have an M key M.2 SSD and this enclosure is supposed to work with both M key or B&M key SSDs. I followed the instructions and neither my PC nor my laptop could recognize the drive. The SSD by itself works fine on my motherboard. Returning this junk.

I like this NVMe drive enclosure a whole lot. Its design makes it ideal for a fast external drive for lightning or USB-C/A connectivity. It’s not a great choice for drive cloning since it requires messing with screws a bit of a process when installing or removing a drive.The enclosure has both a USB-C and USB-A cable and can match-up to USB or Thunderbolt 3 ports on my PC. With the right ports this can be nearly as fast as an internal drive. The installation includes thermal pads and the aluminum case serves as a heat sink to keep NVMe drives from overheating.Windows 10 recognized the enclosure and drive immediately. The bios picked it up right away too. Beware some older systems have bios that don’t support NVMe drives. If you want to use this like a super-fast flash drive or like me work sometimes on really old hardware you might want to remember that.This enclosure does not take M.2 SATA or ATA drives. Only NVMe M-Key M.2 PCIE SSDsThis case does a great job of turning a NVMe drive into a super-fast external drive that is USB and Thunderbolt 3 compatible. I’m very pleased and that’s why I’m giving this 5 stars.
