Great Read
My first book by this author and will definitely not be my last. I always have a smile on my face when I find a new author I like. One to the next in this series.

not perfect ..but
It was a good story, twists and turns, suspense. But the big plus was the 3 d generation of characters that were believable. The author made you care.

Compelling read
I love courtroom dramas, love Scott Turow or Sheldon Siegel, for example and this discovery offers promise of another series to devour. It’s ‘don’t want to put it down’ and ‘looking forward to picking it up’ good. Plot and characterisation are good but what singles it out is the quality of the trial scenes - and the fact that you care. Recommended.

Lethal Defense
Mind blowing. Informative.Strategic thinking; but when someone's own mindset changes because of a killing... and to actually say it was justified then THAT changes one's own perspective when historical events in their past turn everything on its head.Just read, learn and know why an action is not wrong but good, against an evil that did, has, could and might affect you or yours.

Very good
A good easy read that captures all the way through. I will be looking at this author's books in the future.

Gutted
I really enjoyed the characters. Tried to block out the swear words 🙃 Christian here. However l was amazed how Nathan managed to turn around a jury into acquicting Braggy who killed the drug dealer. Not only killed him but made a complete mess of his body. I liked Braggy. Strong character. Knows what he wanted. Got it at the end. Amazing. A

Good plot, shame about the style
If you can skim past the wise cracking and irrelevances then the plot is pleasing. If not, go for Steve Cavanaugh instead.

Good book
Very enjoyable read, hard to put down, would recommend this author to anyone. Nate Shepard is some lawyer. He gets the possible or of the impossible

That was really good
I read a couple of books a week; in a years time, I'll give out a maximum of two five-star ratings. This book is well-written, a bit gritty, and has heart. We all need an unrepentant protector in our lives. Well done, Mr Stagg!

Terrific courtroom drama
I was very surprised at how much I enjoyed this book and have subsequently bought the rest in the series. It’s well written with good characterisation and great courtroom scenes. I’m addicted to legal thrillers with lots of court scenes and this fills the bill. Not high literature but really enjoyable.

gripping!
The story is fast paced. You would think how can someone write a whole book on a slam dunk case… well read the book to find out! I liked the authors racy style of writing. - a cross between Michael Connelly Bosch series and John Grisham eye for details.

A good story with a moral
My first reading of a Michael Stagg book and it was one I really enjoyed. He takes you into the courtroom in a very realistic way and not like you see on the 1 hour tv shows. A story with a heart at its centre.

Good read
This was well written, but sometimes it was a little wordy and I had to skim through some of the court parts.
