YoLink DIY Automatic Water Leak Detection & Shut-Off Starter Kit, EVO Valve Operator, Wireless Valve Controller, (3) Leak Sensors, Hub

Due to a water claim for the previous owners on our new home, we needed to add an automatic water shut off device to get insured. We didn't have have the ability to do invasive work on the plumbing and all the other products needed to be installed by a plumber or a very confident diy-er who was willing to gamble with something as high risk as the main water line whuch we were not comfortable working on. The last thing you want is to make a mistake on something like this. Due to this requirement we decided to purchase this product but were honestly happy to do so. Our minds are at ease knowing that if there's a leak this device will not only notify my where- depending on where I install the little sensors, but also shut the water off entirely. Smart controls are fantastic you can set automations and decide if you want to be notified or have it shut the water off automatically. What's also nice is that you can have it powered with regular batteries, so there's no need to deal with wires everywhere, or finding an outlet nearby, or water proof connections- which I also didn't have where my yo link is now located. I believe the battery can last up to 2 years but even if it's just 6 months I wouldn't have an issue with it seeing as how convenient this is, I can't complain whatsoever. Powerful little device, gives me peace of mind and with all the other housework I'm doing by myself, it's nice to ask Google to shut the water on or off to test what I need to when working on minor plumbing repairs. Price is great and it's more analog than other devices since it uses water sensors and manually shuts off the water, but it honestly gives me more peace of mind since we know if it's wet it's going to set off the automation or alarm without a doubt. If it's running low on battery you'll see it right on the app. Huge plus is that you can place these sensors anywhere! I'm planning on purchasing more to add to my garage in the future! You can't go wrong with this. Good quality, easy to use app, easy to install, integrates with my Google home ecosystem, sensors can be placed anywhere you want giving you full control. Comparable products can be $500+ and that's not even including install which would have ran us another $600 at best. Whether you need it for insurance or for peace of mind. The cost of this is well worth preventing future damage that can occur by not having one installed. Oh and I can attest the sensor work great! Kids were splashing water a bit much in the tub. Wet the floor and just like that all the water was shut off immediately. Sensor works by water either falling on it or water poolibg under it so it can be placed under sinks or areas where leaks can occur, or directly on the floor like in a bathroom! Can't recommend this enough. You won't regret it and might even save you future headaches!

I am most pleased with the YoLink water leak detection and shutoff starter kit. The installation instructions were clear and extra parts were provided to accommodate various installation options. My water shutoff valve was a bit difficult to open & close manually and I was a bit concerned the valve operator might struggle, but as it turned out the actuator had no difficulty. The parts included are substantial and of good quality. Pairing the multiple leak detectors to the the actuator via D2D was straightforward and doesn't require internet connectivity to function. The operator includes battery backup so it works even in the event of an electrical power outage. Bonus, the leak detetectors include a temperature sensor which allows remote monitoring. Money well spent, I highly recommend!

Love this YoLink kit. Well designed, easy to install, robust app and protocals make this a no brainer set up for leak detection and water main shut off.

Great product. Works as expected, and easy to install. Provides the peace of mind you want in cold winters that you can, or it will with it's leak sensors, shut off the water remotely if you ever encounter a water leak while you are away.

Setup was easy and intuitive and have had no leaks yet, but shutoff valve testing worked as expected. I like the fact that the valve draws power from the built-in battery allowing it be be connected to a low voltage/ low current supply simplifying installation. I also like the LoRa peer-to-peer connection, meaning that in an emergency, the whole system could still work even with no building power or internet connection. The only issue I've had so far is that two sensors (out of two dozen across two separate installations) have went offline. I assumed low batteries, but both measured fine when removed and they connected normal when I put them back in. Poor connection, maybe. No problems since.

This system is quite easy to set up. And I can confirm from experience, they work exactly as advertised. I have 6 sensors, the speaker hub and the water shutoff device. Just recently, the alarm went off because a valve on my hot water tank was leaking. It wasn't a big leak, but who knows how long it would have gone before I found it in the basement. The detector sensed the small wet spot, the alarm sounded, my phone notifications went off, and the auto shutoff valve did it's job. Very impressive. Thankfully I was home at the time, but the shut-off was automatic so if we weren't home the damage would be contained.

I think this must be the first smart valve designed by people who actually know how valves work. The adjustable two points of anchoring makes installation easy and accommodates virtually any water valve setup and provides excellent stability. The pass through handle design is awesome. One of the frustrating things with other brands is aligning the actuator’s pivot point with the pivot point of the valve handle. This design makes it easy by simply slotting directly onto the pivot point after removing the original handle. The actuator provides plenty of torque to open and close the valve. App and network setup was simple as well, and pairing each of the leak sensors to the valve was also simple in the app (DTD = Direct to Device). The built-in battery backup is also nice to have. Awesome smart valve for a great price.

This is a very clever approach to a DIY system to detect and limit water leaks. I love that the system is so easy to test - just bring a sensor out to the garage, spill a little water on it, and watch the motor close the main water valve. It was quite simple to install with one issue: although there were three different couplings included to attach the motor unit to the valve stem, none of them fit very well on the valve stem. I had to experiment with making and inserting shims to get a fit that was reliable.

Easy to install, works well. It has triggered once accidentally (someone spilled water on the sensor), and was easy to reset manually and via app.

Simple setup, works as advertised. Purchased after washing machine failure. This was super easy to setup and works great. Valve response is pretty quick. Alerts you on your phone and closes the valve automatically.

I am impressed with the quality. Instructions could have been easier for the communication setup.
