Totally Worth It
This was my first try at cutting glass, so I haven't experienced other makes/types of cutters, but this thing is so easy to use that I found myself wondering where these tools have been all my life! The results are fantastic. I haven't used the circle cutter much yet, but I'm super impressed with the wrench.I also got a set of Bloomoak Professional Carbide Tungsten Alloy Handle Glass Cutter Tool for doing the scoring. I don't know how I'd be able to tell how much of my (up till now) success is due to the cutter tool, and how much was due to the pliers, but the results have been so consistent and effortless that I think both deserve applause.I have only done straight cuts so far, and I've probably only done 15 to 25 cuts in all, but I haven't had a failed cut yet using these.I've also only done fairly thin glass. I have some window/screen-door glass pieces I've collected over the years (some of which have already broken--I can use it since the pieces I've needed are smaller than the fragments), thinking I'd one day make a greenhouse or something. Haven't done that yet, but I have made a couple square terrariums, a shadow box, and a top for an aquarium that I'm using for plant propagation.I can see great potential for stained glass, too.Anyway, if this is your first go at cutting glass, I HIGHLY recommend these. If you're very experienced with cutting glass, I'd love to hear your take on them, because I gather from other cutters that it's supposed to be harder than it is for me.

Cuts glass circles OK, even for beginner
Use plenty of regular machine oil to lubricate the cutters. I used 3in1 oil.Work on a surface that has slight give such as a tablecloth on a flat surface. I used the cardboard backing from the picture frame whose glass I cut the circle from. The venier, the measurement scale, on the arm of the device is rather crude. I used a piece of paper & "drew" the first circle onto the paper to get the correct dimension dialed in.I then cut two glass circles being careful not to apply lateral (sideways) force to the handle as I traced a circle onto the glass with the cutter. Use downward force only. Do not "over trace" when you complete tracing a full circle. You will feel & hear the cutter wheel drop into the beginning of the small channel the cutter cuts into the glass as you finish the circle.Flip glass over and gently press on the etching and the pressure will cause the glass to break at the etching. Continue following the break until it forms the full.circle. Flip it back over & do the same to the side the cutter worked on.Using the Straight cutter cut from the circle out to the edge of the glass beginning about 1/8 of an inch from the circle edge. Cut 4 - 5 straight cuts leading away from the circle. Repeat the flipping over of the glass & pressing on these straight cuts to break the glass. The pieces will come apart falling away from the glass circle.

It is a good working glass cutter kit.
There is nothing too crazy about this item. It's a good price value, if they added some oil in it would be even better. It is easy to use and works fairly well. The only problem I have had with it is the circle cutter is kind of inaccurate. The axle it spins around shifts slightly (not the suction cup) as well as the hand held piece when you use it. This doesn't affect a lot but means the circles don't always align up well.

Broken Parts
The knob handle on the circular glass cutter was broken when it arrived. I didn't choose to return it because it appeared to be a bit of a pain to do so on an item that was only $20. Will probably just try to glue it together. If that works out, good. If not, I'll just trash the thing. The other items in the box appear to be ok. Speedy delivery, which was nice.
