easy install
quick delivery and no brainer on installation with heat gun, just take your time and you will be done in no time. leave an inch of shrink tubing past the cable on one end and start shrinking.

Great choice, cheeper than ordering the whole cable
It was a little difficult getting the old cable cover off, but once done this slid on easily. It takes a good amout of heat to make it shrink properly. I used a heat gun and was careful not to burn it.Once you think you're done, take it in good lighing and move it all around. you'll find wrinkles and can hit them with more heat. If you miss those spots, it will eventually rip while in use.I was very happy with the finished product and have climbed with my stand and noticed how much quieter it was without the metal on metal sound.

Works, but not durable
The existing cable covering is easy to remove with a utility blade. A quick inspection of the cable and fine grit sand paper on any mild oxidation. New shrink wrap covering takes a while to put on with a heat gun, but easy enough to do. As soon as I reinstalled the cable back in my Summit Viper SD stand, I noticed the new covering started to nick and rip like the old one. It won’t be long until this will need to be replaced again. The design isn’t great as the cable stop knuckle edges score the cable cover. It is what it is.

Beautiful idea and thank you Summit
I've had my stand for a few years. It got a lot of use last year and the covering was breaking. The cords were in great shape but the plastic coating was needing to be replaced. I thought I had to buy a new set and came across these. Reviews were good....so I took a chance.I used a utility knife, careful not to cut myself, to remove the old. One thin line and the old coating peels right off. Took me about 5 minutes to get the old stuff off. the cords were in great shape. The new covers seem large. They slide right over the cords. Very easy.Heat gun is recommended. I do not believe a hairdryer will be hot enough. I don't have a heat gun and never had a need for one. I actually turned on my electric stove burner on 9. I let it heat up and then carefully rotated the cord with the new cover over the heat. Turned out it worked very well. After about 15-20 minutes both cords were done and looked like new. Probably not the best technique but it worked. Now to see how durable they are. They seem like the originals so I anticipate they will last.

Nice replacement product
This is a replacement item for the summit climbing treestands that use the cable systems that are protected by shrink tubing.Bought this to maintain the cables on my summit titan climber. Worst part of the entire process was removing the old shrink tubing before installing the new product. Found the easiest way to remove the old shrink tubing was with a utility knife and a pair of needle nose pliers.Once the old stuff is off and you slide the new tubing onto the cable you will need something with a fairly good heat source such as an electric heat gun or a propane torch. Just being careful to not apply direct heat in one area of the tubing for an extended period of time as it could melt the tubing more than just shrinking it to the cables.

Better than OEM.
These are more rubbery than the original cable covers on my summit. Seem a bit thicker too. Great replacement covers. Recieved in Summit branded OEM packaging. Highly recommended if your covers are worn or ripped.***Heat gun makes the installation much easier.

Works as expected
Great replacement for the original protective layer. Actually feels thicker than the original. Easy to apply. Just remember to apply heat from the middle section outwards to prevent trapping air
