Surprisingly Great pair of Poles
I bought these poles to have a nice light hiking pole that wouldn’t get cold or be heavy. They fit the bill perfectly! And then I tried them backcountry trekking, skinning and snowshoeing! Again, perfect for my needs. I like the various attachments and I can use one as a monopod! If I have one small concern, as great as the price is, the were available for about 1/2 off at big box shop. That’s on me for not checking around.Still a very good value for a solid, very light pole with a cork grip!

Know whether you want one or two poles and order correctly.
Locking devices are plastic not metal and at some time will most likely break. The attachment of the hand strap seems cheap. Even so the pole does serve it's intended purpose adequately.

Sturdy and Light Weight
The media could not be loaded. I absolutely love backpacking and hiking, especially in the mountains. A good pair of trakking poles are a requirement to give extra stability, help you through precarious sections of trail, and sometimes even help hold up a tent. You need them to be lightweight, the handle needs to be a material that won't chafe as you sweat (blisters are NOT fun), and the tips need to be heavy duty and able to be used in a variety of hiking situations. I already have a pair of good poles, but they don't have cork handles and cause blisters by day three on the trail. They are also getting a bit worn and it was time to get new ones. Now for this set of trekking poles - I love them! I noticed a lot of reviews where there were concerns about them collapsing but I decided to try them anyway and am glad I did; I strongly suspect they are not getting tightened properly.Pros:~ Lightweight but very strong.~Cork for the grips, but a nice, velvety rubber material just below that to make adjusting the poles comfortable and easy.~A ton of options I never really considered but now am kind of excited about, especially the smartphone holder that attaches to the pole. On my last trip I would have loved having this rather than digging my phone out when I saw something amazing.~Solid adjustments - if you open the clasp fully, position your pole at the length you want it, then tighten the clear/opaque bolt/screw, then clamp the clasp down firmly, these rods don't budge. I tested by jumping onto them and putting my whole weight on, pounding them on the ground with all my force and weight (and I am a substantial 175-lbs) and was quite happy with how they held up.~The alternate tips are very strong and excellent variety. I really like the feel of the material, it doesn't feel like cheap plastics. Thick and sturdy is the best way I can think to describe them.~ The straps have a soft material on the inside that feels amazing on your wrist. You can remove the straps from the poles if you want to as well, and even wash them.~The storage bag has a perfect pouch to hold the accessories. Since I generally choose what I need and leave the rest I really like this. No lost feet!Cons:~Hmm.... I haven't actually found any yet! These poles are going to get a lot of use, from day hikes to adventure. I am so happy I decided to get them!

Accessories Abound!
I really like these hiking poles and the many accessories. The accessories cover all bases and are easy to use and store. The bag it comes with has a separate small zippered pouch that fits all the accessories, so they are not flopping around on the bottom. The cork top easily unscrews and a smart phone mount, that allows for a vertical or horizonal position, can be securely added. There are two overs for the pointed ends basic cover and a treaded one.I've been using the larger "snow basket" for hiking in the fall in New England to prevent too many leaves from attaching. The poles are lightweight and easy to adjust. However it's important to tighten the clear thumbscrew as tight as possible before locking them, otherwise they might collapse. The only problem I had was with the packaging (see picture). The corded drawstring was flush with the box top and I cut through the cord when I used scissors to open then package. It was easy to fix.I resisted poles for so long but after using a friends pair I had more confidence and was able to move faster. In New England many rooted and rocked trails are covered with dense leaves in the fall, these trekking poles have been a wonderful addition.

light weight and full featured
I shopped for a pair of hiking poles for a 7 day backpack. The primary requirement was that it has a tripod mount, and I also wanted something fairly light. I hesitated about this kit from Cascade Mountain, because it's not a well-known brand, and seems like a chinese no-name brand. Can I trust it?Although it's not at the same level as a set from Black Diamond and the like, this is a solid choice. First, the 8.6oz (244g) weight is accurate. This carbon pole is pretty light, but not ultra light. The pole is sturdy. The length adjustment is very secure, holds my weight and won't slip. The cork grip is not as ergonomic as some designs, but is comfortable enough and works ok. Cork will probably absorb a bit of water, adding weight, and a synthetic grip would be lighter and better, but i think cork will be durable. The wrist strap is an adjustable buckle, which is not as seamless as no-buckle designs that use friction to hold the strap loop, but it's actually pretty good. the buckle doesn't get in the way, and the stap has a soft fabric on the inside which is great for your bare hand and wrist. It has a carry-case with a zip pocket that neatly holds all accessories, which is pretty nice overall. Now the tripod mount. It has a locing collar nut which is tiny, and you can't actually reach it with your fingertip. So to position your camera, you need to unscrew the camera to adjust the nut, and retighten several times before you get it in the right position. Not a deal-breaker. I found that the wrist strap is now loose with a camera insalled, because the lock nut no longer holds it down firmly. The strap will swivel and move around, but won't ever come off, and this turns out to be no issue. The only downside of these poles is the folded length. A bit too long for any backpack, and need to be strapped to the outside of a pack. That's expected with this friction-buckle design.Overall these poles are recommended, especially if you want a tripod mount for an action-cam.

No me gusto
