Good book
Easy to read and a very informative book. Read it before starting my Msc in Investigative Psychology by David Canter. I enjoyed reading this introduction book. it gave a very good overview of what the field of forensic psychology is and what it is not. He makes a point (about 5 or 6 times) about how it is not like TV shows. I get the feeling he is tired of answering reports asking him to provide "profiles". The book is largely dedicated to how forensic psyc actually works within the legal system. If you are looking for a book about profiling then this is not it. this book focuses on what forensic psychologists actually do and were the field is going in the future. If you have the impression that it's like shows like "criminal behavior" or "csi" then this book will open your eyes to reality. If you are interested in profiling and profiling techniques this book doesn't cover anything like that (read Dan Korem instead). The only reason I didn't give the full 5 stars is that this book is from one man's perspective. Although he is a famous and well respected Dr of Psyc, for an introductory book his opinions bled through a lot. That didn't take away from it, and it was a really interesting read.
