Good bulb good price
Good bulb good price. Only reason it dint get a 5th star? The color varies form bulb to bulb. Not a big deal but my kitchen lighting uses 14 of these so I can see the variance every day.

is it the bulb or is it the ballast?
I had problems with these bulbs not working but it turned out to be the ballast failing on the fixture. Thus I can't be certain about the quality of the bulbs; perhaps they were fine. If you are unfortunate enough to need this type of bulb, do yourself a favor and replace the fixture instead of the bulb. These bulbs get noticeably dimmer over time, they are very difficult to find, and it seems like the overall quality is down compared to the ones that came installed in the house (the originals lasted 10 years but I never got more than 2 years out of the new ones). Symptoms of a failing ballast include the light not turning on right away but then mysteriously switching on ten or fifteen minutes later. The symptoms worsen until eventually the light only occasionally turns on, no matter how many new bulbs you get. It is cost prohibitive to replace the ballast. The ballast dies faster if the light gets switched on and off frequently, so this type of light is terrible to have in a kid's room. I got a new fixture with Edison sockets and put LED lights in it, and was very pleased - much brighter, far easier to get bulbs, much easier to change the bulbs. I am in the process of replacing all the other fixtures of this type so that I'll never have to buy these bulbs again.
