Fantastic Boom Arm for Photography, but Installation Requires Patience
I recently added the Selens Wall Mount Boom Arm to my photography studio, and it has been a game-changer! The build quality is solid, and the adjustable arm, extending up to 51 inches (130 cm), gives me incredible flexibility when positioning my lights, reflectors, and softboxes. It’s a true space-saver, freeing up valuable floor space while still providing the range I need for professional setups. Now, let’s talk about the installation—it’s not exactly a quick process. While the included hardware works well enough, mounting this arm on the wall proved more challenging than I expected. Aligning the base and securing it properly took a bit of effort (and maybe a few frustrated words). Be sure you have the right tools and a little extra time to get it installed just right. Once you get past the installation hurdle, this boom arm really shines. It’s sturdy, easy to adjust, and has given my studio a cleaner, more streamlined look. If you’re after a smart, space-saving solution, this boom arm is definitely worth the investment!

This is very functional and perfect for my home office teaching setup
I teach a couple of synchronous Zoom classes from home each semester, and this is perfect for my office setup. I have a 42 in? monitor that is wall-mounted in a corner, and before this, I had my webcam on a tripod in front of me. This means I had to read my screen around the tripod. It worked, but it was not comfortable. It also took up a ton of my desk space. It was a hassle to put up the tripod, take it back down between classes, and take a few minutes each time to adjust. Now, I have all of my desk space back, and I can just swing this bar out of the way if I want to, but I don't even mind it being there all the time, since it does not block my view of my screen. This setup is definitely a bit sturdier than I needed for a tiny webcam, however, I may also mount my mic to it to get that off of the side of the desk as well. There will be no issues with supporting the weight, as this boom is very sturdy! I did screw it into a stud for safety reasons. I will add that all of the adjusting levers are also very secure, but still easy to adjust if needed. This may have been the best money I have spent on my home office yet. I would give more than 5 stars if I could!

Amazing wall mount
Amazing wall mount, I returned because I realized I didn’t have the space for mounting it

I was surprised!
I actually use this unit to hold a work light above a bench in a poorly lit workshop. I bought an LED light to use with this arm and it turned out marvelously. I was shocked at the weight and construction of this arm! It really is built extremely well. My only issue was the bag of hardware used for mounting it to the wall had came open during shipping and some of the parts were lost. That did not matter to me at all though. The anchors they provided were quite cheap looking and I was mounting to a concrete block wall so I just used Tapcon screws instead of the provided hardware.

Very good quality!
Easy to install but was bummed the bolts were silver. Went to Home Depot to buy black bolts which wasn’t a big deal as they look better! The mount is sturdy and is so easy to extend and move up, down left right with ease. (Ring light is from neewer 18” )

Game changer, but had to buy my own screws.
I’ve been using this for a while now in my home office/studio. Filmmaking is my hobby, but I also have to work in there every day so I like to keep it looking and feeling like an office. This thing means I don’t have to have light stands cluttering up my floor space. I now just leave my Aputure 100d mounted to this boom arm all the time with either a Light Dome Mini II or Lantern soft box attached at all times. I was skeptical about the locking mechanism, but so far it has kept its height and position. Having to setup and take down light stands made me less motivated to create videos, and this has helped solve that problem. Super versatile, too. I can use it for overhead lighting on top-down desktop shots, like unboxing, etc. as well as for my key light for talking heads. Only downside is it only includes what appear to be installation hardware for concrete so I had to buy my own lag screws to install on a stud.

Impressive stability!!!
I bought this as mic mount for my vocal booth and couldn't be any happier. I have some rather expensive mics, but honestly...I treat all my mics with the same care. Some, however, are fairly heavy and I have no faith at all in conventional stands, nor the space for HD Atlas booms in the booth. It's stability, range of adjustment, both in height and distance made this a homerun for my purpose. Far more practical than other means and costs, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND this unit.

Fits My Needs Pretty Well
This boom is going to work out well for me, I think. It isn't rock steady while I'm using it but I'm using it for still photographs taken from a webcam so my setup isn't problematic if the boom moves a little. I tightened up the lock nuts and that stabilized the mount quite a bit. If you don't have ordinary tools, like a wrench and a socket set, then you might find this installation & setup a little troublesome. The wall bolts that are sent with the boom were of no use to me. I mounted it to a wood post using ordinary cap head screws. I only needed two. 5 stars for adjustability and it stores up and out of the way. At around $60 I'd say the value was good.
