Better than going to a movie!
I wanted something that we could do for family time, and this was perfect. It can be so hard to find something that everyone will do together! I thought the mysteries at each step were a bit too obvious, but my daughter (14) and husband did not. Regardless, the kit is extremely well constructed, with lots of things to look at and plenty of jokes for the adults. It's expensive for one-time use (unlike a board game that can be played again), but still cheaper than going to a movie. There are multiple questions to answer, so after you solve the first part, there are still things to do. The parts don't get used up, so it would be perfect to pass to a new family after you solve the case. Just make sure that all the parts get back in the right places! (There are several steps, and some pieces of evidence are not meant to be seen right away.) I am looking forward to solving another case from this company with my husband on our next date night. We are ordering Chinese take-out like real detectives.

Perfect for kids 9-12
I bought this as a family activity over the holidays, to do with my daughters 10 and 12. Neither had done a mystery game like this before. They LOVED it. It was the right amount of challenge while learning the "mechanics" of a murder mystery, and the steps along the way gave them something tangible to accomplish so it didn't seem overwhelming. The subject (missing class pet) was not "scary" and now they want to try others. It was great fun!We marked up the files/photos, so this ended up being a one-time use. But if you don't write on anything, I think this could be re-packaged and passed along to share.

Daughter LOVED it!
My daughter loves mystery everything—shows, movies, books. She loves Encyclopedia Brown and will turn pretty much every run-of-the-mill unknown into something that needs to be investigated. So when I saw this, I thought she would like it, but there’s always the risk of parental fails when it comes to picking out gifts for tweens. It was not a fail—she absolutely LOVED it. Her enthusiasm was at a 10 the whole time. For context, there is a lot of reading involved in solving the mystery and she’s an avid reader and a highly observant person, so if your potential recipient if this gift is like that, this may be a great gift. This took us about 2 hours to solve working with 2 adults and a 10 yo. My 7yo started working on it with us. She is a big reader, but not as much of a mystery fanatic. She was interested for the first half hour, but fell asleep about half way through solving it. Overall, great gift! Totally worth the price. Way more fun and interactive than going to a movie, especially for a kid who loves conversation.

So Well Done
This package has everything needed for engaging kids in a truly interactive family experience — better than TV or a movie; better even than reading a book aloud. The key is to invite each child to contribute according to their respective skills and abilities. Our six-year old granddaughter turned out to have an eagle eye for crucial details in photographs; our nine-year old grandson had a phenomenal memory for details in witness interviews and newspaper articles. The evidence is reproduced to a very high standard and makes the product fully worth the price. (As other reviews have mentioned, if you handle the materials carefully, you can easily reuse them for other children to enjoy.) Will be on the lookout for more of this genre!

Great for a Family Fun Night
This was a great addition to our monthly family fun night. Three of our kids are in elementary and middle school and they were able to work out the clues and solve the mystery with just a little adult guidance.

Hours of fun
First time playing. Our whole family had a blast solving the case. 8 of us playing and it took 3 hours. The oldest member of the group (69) didn't want to play at first then saw how much fun we were having and ended up getting more into it than the kids... and the kids were way into it. Challenging game for all ages. We ranged 6 to 69 and all had fun and everyone played a part in solving the case and was on the edge of their seat the entire time, solving and thinking.Great job UNSOLVED CASE FILES, we'll definitely be ordering more.Open the envelopes neatly then keep track of what goes where and put it all back together when the game's over (glue stick seals them back nice) --- then share the fun with someone else you didn't play with.

So much fun
The media could not be loaded. My family (12, 11, 8) have been doing this for 2 nights already. Everyone is engaged and enjoying trying to find out who stole this bunny! Such a great gift too!

Super fun for my 11year old daughter!
Purchased for a mystery party for my daughter and her friends. Materials were high quality and really well done. The girls were able to figure out the mystery in about 2hrs—perfect timing for the party! Appreciated the age appropriate subject matter and would love to see more mysteries for this age group on the market!

Challenging and Fun for the Whole Family
This is such a cleverly-designed and interesting game. We played with our kids aged 11, 15, and 18, and there was enough to work on to keep everyone engaged and participating. We loved that the mystery is kid-friendly with no gore or murder, but the problem-solving is challenging enough for teens and adults too. Such a fun game! We’ll be watching for more of these "family case" versions to come out.

Great family fun
The perfect level of difficulty for us as a family woth a 9 and 12 year old.It really helped to work as a team as we all spotted evidence that others had missed. I would really recommend it for a family games night.

Great family game
I bought this for my 12 year old daughter to do with me during the holidays. She loves reading crime books so I thought this would be a great game to try, and specifically chose this one as it is child friendly as it’s about a rabbit getting stolen. The whole family loved it! It took us just over an hour to work through it all but it was very fun and rewarding. We are now looking for another one to solve.

Ingenious Solve!
I’ve been waiting for the Honey The Bunny Case file to come to Canada ever since I saw it on the UCF website. I thought it was an adorable addition to the whole series and after playing it with my sister, we still laugh at that INGENIOUS final solve. This case was put together fantastically and I highly recommend it. I could not sing its praises any louder.

Great Introduction to the Series
I've seen all the case files however I wanted one for my daughter to share, she's only 11 and I wasn't sure I wanted to read the murder ones first. This is a great family game however there is lots of reading and she did get bored at a few points but otherwise, it's a great game and a family friendly storyline. The Internet sections for checking helped us, we did have all the right solutions but a coupe of small details were missed but the summary filled those in for us.Once completed, I signed up for the 10% discount shown on the final envelope however it's not as first shown. The biggest discount is when you buy more cases so it's not 10% as first advertised. It does however come with a small free case and I've had another email since with a good few more free cases on so it's definitely worth signing up just for thoseI'd definitely buy these again as gifts and aim to share with friends and family as they're only a 1 time use
