Already have "Art Before Breakfast"? Get this, too!
Do you already have Art Before Breakfast and wonder if you would like this, too?Yes, you would. This is easy to carry around with you and has solid paper that takes a fine line marker quite nicely. The prompts are like having Danny right there encouraging you to get at it and it's, hey, just plain fun!I was hesitant to buy this, having already bought the regular ABB, but I'm so glad I did. It's not so presumptuous as 'having to do sketching before breakfast' in a REAL sketchbook. I carry this around, when I get a few minutes I open it to random pages and just have fun sketching something, any time of day. This is my first time ever sketching in a 'real' book, so THAT feels a bit awkward and I keep waiting to get slapped for ruining a good book. But for me, this adds to the fun. I'm old and get my thrills where I can.And it's helping me to build my sketching habit, which ABB didn't quite do for me, it helped but not like this one.So this is my opinion, I say "Buy it and have fun!"And watch Danny's youtube video "Workbook Video #4: a travel disaster" for some perspective and a chuckle.

Gregory says, "Just draw whatever wherever you are."
The workbook is the delightful sort of publication that I expect of Danny Gregory. Nice size for wagging around as I go to and fro. The remarks the author makes will inspire and reinforce most readers/workbook users and will be off-putting to a few because they do not identify with the scenarios Gregory uses; some will say, "I do not have time to eat breakfast, let alone draw my toast, grumble, grumble," for example. Gregory describes some of the basic principles involved in making drawings but the main idea is get you to begin making marks with pen on paper. The author'ssketches make the book well "decorated" and fascinating.

Habit Forming!
The media could not be loaded. This is the perfect way to make a regular habit of creating your art daily. I've enjoyed the journaling process again too, since I'd gotten out of the habit. It also helps, that it gives me a task or objective and makes it easier to create art or poetry with a suggested subject! I've used it every day and love the format and the homey look of the book as well. Thanks to Danny Gregory, the author, I'm doing my dailies again!

A good first workbook. Seller was prompt and book in good condition.
Got the book very promptly, very good condition for a used book. The seller 5 stars.I have a couple of Danny Gregory's books. This one is a bit too basic but it seems like fun to do when I am in between things. Or diverted.

If You Can Already Draw
Danny is so supportive, and folksy. But don't come here if you really want to learn to draw. He doesn't teach that. He's an encourager/coach, but not an art teacher.

Worth it!
I got this for a gift for my mom who is constantly doodling or painting (super artsy) and so far she loves it! It has her trying different techniques each day.
