VIGRUE Self-Locking Gate Latch - Heavy Duty Automatic Gate Latch - Fence Gate Lock with Fasteners Hardware for Secure Pool, Yard, Garden, Black

I purchased this gate lock to replace a cheaper finger tip release latch that wasn't working reliably. Briefly, the old bolt was flexing too much and the latch wouldn't clasp and when the bolt would hit, the latch wouldn't close. Anyhow, the VIGUE is the perfect replacement. I modified it a bit by flipping the lever and spring upside down so that I would push down (rather than lift up) to open the gate. The bolt is a solid chunk of metal with a serious weld to its mounting frame. The screws are self-drilling (Trident drill point) with hexagonal heads, this was a welcome change to either a Philips or Torx screw where there is more than a chance that the head will be stripped. Installation was a easy and the latch makes a reassuring 'ka-chunk' (see video) when activated.

Easy to install and works well. I picked it as it reminded me of the latch on our old house’s fence. It might be a little lighter, but still it’s decently sturdy and works well on our new vinyl fence.

Put in on easy and I am no Mr. Fix it LOL quality is good very pleased with this item.... Did the job now my fence is secure and locked with a paddle lock!!!

Works great as advertised and does exactly what it's supposed to do which is latch my gate and is made very solid and sturdy and would definitely recommend

The latch and striker are nice. However, the fasteners are too SHORT. With less than 1 inch of actual threads and just over 1 inch long these screws barely penetrate the picket. The self taping feature is a joke. Drill a pilot hole. I had to purchase LONGER fasteners. You better hope your gate never gets caught by a gust of wind. One good slam was all it needed to make the latch come loose.

Bought 3 gate latches before this one, all of the others have bent over the course of a few months. This is super sturdy and holds up well! My only complaint is I had to drill new holes, but that wasn’t a big deal.

Needed a new gate latch and this one did the deed. Our other one fell apart- and this latch opens and closes perfectly- will last for a while! Very satisfied!
