SparkFoam 39" Foam Samurai Sword (1) + Plastic Scabbard Bundle (1)

Superior ! Looks like the real thing ! I’m using it for a samurai cosplay and everyone was impressed !! I planning on buying another.

You can see from the photo that this is a big sword. My son is 5'4", weighing 160 lbs. The sword does not cut or have a sharp tip, but in its sheath, it could knock someone's eye out if you strap it across your back and turn suddenly. I would recommend it for responsible kids/adults at least 5'2" or taller.

From other reviews, what I was most worried about for this was that the handle wouldn't be sturdy and the sword would end up kinda flopping around if not held really close to the guard, due to the inner support not traveling the entire way up the hilt. That is not the case for my sword! (Even though not a comfortable grip realistically, I can hold the very end of the hilt and the sword stays sturdy.) Very pleased with that. I've never had a fake weapon such as this before, so I wasn't really sure what to expect with 'foam,' but it's a very dense foam all over, which contributes to that sturdiness.The only reason I gave 4 stars for now is because I'm using the sword for a cosplay, so I'll need to make some adjustments (painting, installing a different guard, etc.) and will be carrying it around with me for an entire day. I'll update my review after that to reflect my thoughts then, which will probably include more on the feature of durability!

Pros:Looks fantastic. Great detail and color. Extremely durable. Comes with a sheath.Cons: I expected the blade to be flexible but the handle is so floppy. The rod core does not go all the way to the end of the hand grip so it feels so rubbery. This isn't the case with the Sparkfoam longswords I bought. With a firmer handle this would be 5 stars all day long!

For the value, one isn't bad. But if you need 2 look for the deadpool version as you get more for the money. Overall this sword and scabbard set look really nice and a great addition to cosplay. You can customize the wrap, hilt, and scabbard to your liking. Only issue I had was the hand guard coming loose almost immediately.

This sword looks great. Sadly, as I took it out of the box (gently) the handle came out in my hand. It seems like the handle is held on with only a little bit of glue. Certainly this was only for a costume, but I am not sure how one would unsheathe the sword without it breaking. Maybe I just got a dud, not sure. But, it seems like there should be at least a small screw or pin to link the handle to the inner core.

I am blown away by this foam sword. This thing is absolutely durable. I have been sparring with a friend who also has one of these, and we have been swinging upon one another with impressive force. It’s incredibly light weight. Makes it perfect for swinging around with ease. The handle is firm and feels good in the hand. Be advised, if you hit things with the blade, it leaves marks in the foam. This does not harm the condition of the blade however, the marks are only cosmetic and I like to think of them as “battle scars”. The sheath for this sword is a hard durable material. The sword fits into the sheath perfectly so that it stays snug in place while walking or running. There is even a little eyehole to attach the sheath to a belt or some sort of sling. I have owned this product for about a year now. I am still in love with it. I would highly recommend any spark foam sword to anyone looking for either a cool toy, or something to actually spar with safely. 10/10 would buy again if mine broke, but I haven’t been able to do that yet!

Seems pretty well made, though there is a small wrinkle near the tip of the blade. Not sure it's worth the price, but I think it's perfectly okay.
