Love that these are water resistant. They did take some getting used to and I do think that the sound quality is a little different but overall I really like that I can workout in these and they aren't super sweaty and gross anymore! These are definitely a great alternative to the replacements on the official website because the price is so much more reasonable and again they are water resistant! I don't think they even look all that different front the original ear cups especially from a distance. The color is close to the original ones and I'm overall extremely happy with this purchase!

A solid replacement for the original ones - not as good, but acceptable to use while the originals dry up after cleaning. May use these longer than intended as they're very comfortable and behave almost the same as the originals. They do not have a (noticeable) coating, however.

THIRD UPDATE: I contacted the seller and explained my cleaning method. They responded saying that’s how they recommend cleaning then and then told me to have a nice day. No offer to fix them or replace them. This means they know they’re going to fall apart but don’t care. Here’s their response “ The black substance you mentioned that fell off should be dye, as pure sheepskin is not originally black in color. In the second picture, the glue on the product has already come off. However, please be cautious with the cleaning method next time. Simply use a wet tissue to gently wipe the surface, and then use a dry tissue to absorb any moisture. Additionally, avoid exposing the sheepskin ear cups to direct sunlight. Thank you!” SECOND UPDATE: these ear cups are garbage. Went to wash them for the first time (cold water and soap since adhesives usually don’t like hot/warm water and the manufacture doesn’t have cleaning instructions 🙄) and they completely fell apart. I’m going to reach out to them about it but I would be shocked if they aren’t going to claim some reason for not exchanging. DO NOT BUY THESE. UPDATED REVIEW: Earrock sent me a message after I posted my review and offered a full refund, no strings attached. I accepted the refund and they sent confirmation over. Then they asked if I would like to try a different style sent to me at their expense. I accepted that as well and they arrived a couple days later. I have to say, these are actually pretty decent replacement cups. I opted for the black lambskin and they have a stiffer and more dense foam that helps keep noise out (and in) while still being comfortable. They have a kind of leathery feel while you wear them, so if that’s not your thing these aren’t for you. But if you need to replace your cups and don’t want to pay Apple’s ridiculous prices, these aren’t a bad option. Thank you to Earrock for reaching out and fixing this without me having to contact anyone or jump through hoops. If you’re on the fence about buying, just do it and their customer service will sort it out for you if you’re not satisfied. It’s actually pretty refreshing. Original Review: Just like all the other reviewers, the cups I ordered (black mesh) sound absolutely horrible. It’s like a high pitched crinkle noise with every movement while I’m wearing them. There’s also really bad sound leaking in, even in noise cancelation mode. They feel substantially lighter than the OEM cups and I suspect that’s why there’s so much noise coming through. At least they’re soft though 🤷🏻‍♂️ I wouldn’t buy them again nor recommend that other people buy them. I’m going to return them and just get the Apple replacements for double the price. Ugh.

Bought these based on reviews here on Amazon as well as recommendations from around the internet. They are half the price of the OEM cup replacements but do not provide the same soundstage as the originals (even my worn out set). The passthrough/transparency mode does not work as well as with OEM. They are a smaller fit than the originals and sit on TOP of my ears, as opposed to fitting over them. This is the biggest point of my frustration. The images advertise them to be of similar shape as the originals, but as soon as I opened the box there was a very drastic difference between the two. These are more square, and are incredibly squishy, which in and of itself is not inherently bad- just isn’t what I wanted from this product. I will look into returning as I am very unsatisfied with this. I say save your money and shell out the extra $40-ish dollars for Apple branded replacements. 0/5 would not recommend.

If you look at the one-star reviews I would agree with almost all of them. At first when I got these and put them on straight out of the box and they felt sooo much better in terms of comfort the original OEM cushions from Apple are definitely not as comfy as these. I wore them for a solid two hours in the gym with no irritation and loved the feel much better. However, the Sound quality is not the same it's almost like there's sound leakage or like a whistling howl in the background that does in fact ruin the sound of the streaming music you're trying to listen to. It was very annoying and would only would go away if you turned off both noise cancelation and transparency mode in that drop-down menu from the iPhone settings. If you don't mind having both of those OFF the whole time you use them then purchase them but however, it does make my 500$ headphones drop to 100$ headphones in terms of sound in my opinion. I wish i would have looked deeper into the negative comments before buying them. I give them overall 3 out of 5 stars because of this.

Good replacement!

After getting the AirPods Max and being in love with the sound quality and the noise cancellation (not the biggest selling point for me personally), there was one glaring miss that Apple made with these otherwise amazing headphones. The earcups that came stock on the AirPods Max, while extremely well built and very easy to replace (great design by Apple), the feel was terrible for me. The stock earcups left me with irritation around my ears after wearing them for any length of time (longer than about 30 minutes). I feverishly began searching for replacements, and most importantly, leather (or simulated leather) is what I was looking for. Sadly - there were no options out on the market. It was then that I happened to come across these gems. After receiving them, I immediately noticed the overall build quality was equal to the stock earcups that came with the AirPods Max, the fit and design was almost impossible to tell apart. The feel of the material was soft, plush and feels very high quality. As you can see in the photos - they are almost impossible to tell apart from the stock earcups that came on the AirPods Max. There was one person that noted in another review that the noise cancellation is not quite up to par with the stock earcups, I did find this to be the case as well, however - it is NOT something that bothers me and not something that would warrant me lowering the rating on these. The overall quality, the feel around my ears all while still maintaining an accurate and pleasing sound profile (when listening to music) makes it easy for me to give these 5 stars. If you are looking for a replacement and don’t want the itchy feeling associated with the stock earcups - then definitely check these out!
