Best shoes for walking

Great general purpose walking shoe, but not designed for working out in. They are great for strolling through the department store or a walk through the park, but they don't support my foot enough on the sides and top to use on the treadmill, or out on a good, medium paced or better, walk on the greenway. No way I would want to use them for any kind of unpaved trail. Spongy sole makes them very comfortable, but stretchy upper gives little support. I like the fact that they are washable. I have washed them once already and they held up great. Air dry though. Not sure how they would hold up in the dryer. Definitely be prepared for "old man shoes" comments though, especially if you wear them with knee high, black compression stockings and shorts <joke>
