Very Little Smoke
Once it's going the amount of smoke is negligible, as it should be. Also throws off a lot of heat. I'm impressed with how completely it burns the wood. Filled it 6-7 times before emptying the ash, and there wasn't much. Also, cover it when not in use to keep the ash from mudding up, making it much harder to empty. It's been outside for 8 weeks and Stainless Steel hasn't rusted. Half the cost of others on the market and the SS cooking grate that comes with it is sturdy.

Cheap, durable, portable and works well.
I could not convince myself a big steel can to have a fire had the $400 of value the name brand was going for. I bought this for a lot less and it works well. Easy to start a fire and nothing left but a handful of clean ash. The outer shell stays cool to the touch so it's safer for kids. I put a fireproof under it but I am not even sure its needed. As everyone says, it does direct heat up rather than out so as is it is not the best for keeping warm. OTOH, its better for smores on warm nights. If you want more heat, you can also make a DIY heat spreader from a big pizza pan like this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU3WP7M or just use it as a cover.

Great smokeless fire pit for the money
I wasn't sure how much I would use a smokeless firepit so I want to get an inexpensive one I could use with a variety of firewood and deadwood from my yard to test out and use for entertaining. This is perfect for that, and I have used it 3-4 times so far. It's a nice way to keep the fire contained and it doesn't transmit the heat to the ground much at all. So it's great if you don't have a dedicated firepit area. You can easily use it on your lawn. The smokeless aspect definitely works, and you get complete combustion of whatever wood you put in with minimal need to tend the fire. Aesthetically, I don't think any of the smokeless pits look very good. They all kinda look like small trash can fires. ;) But this one looks as good as any of the others I saw, and of course it is literally about half the price. As with most of these units, you have to turn it over to dump out the ashes after use. You want to wear workgloves for that, it is made of thin metal. If there is any downside to the unit, it is the sharpness of the metal construction. There are several ways I could see cutting or hurting myself given the thin gauge of the metal. But if you are careful when handling, it is fine. Just be aware of that!I read the reviews carefully before buying this fire pit, and the one thing noted was that the black finish (paint) will wear off quickly on the inside and potentially lead to corrosion. It looks like this might be happening after 3-4 burns. However, I am not convinced this will lead to a lot of corrosion for all users. It is mostly aesthetic for now. I imagine it depends greatly on how you store it, how humid your environment, etc. If you want it to last for 5 or 10 years, then you would need to paint the inside occasionally to protect it. No doubt about that. So, I'm happy with the purchase, and if I find it doesn't last a super long time even with good care and maintenance, I will alter the review. BUT, for the price, I will be happy regardless because it let me test out the smokeless firepit concept at a pretty low cost.

Actually Worked
Whether using pellets or chopped wood, the pit will will smoke slightly in the beginning. Once the flame truly catches the smokeless system works perfectly as advertised. Took camping and used non-stop. This system puts off a lot of heat and does eat a lot of wood, which isn't a bad thing. Only complaint is the weilding along the top sheet metal seems more like tac welds but they have not broken yet. I'd buy again.

metal mesh spark guard disintegrated in less than 12 months
I live in southern arizona. A product like this gets used just a few times early in the year. I received it as a Christmas present in 2021. It was expensive but the feature of reducing smoke was appealing to me.We used it just a couple of times at the beginning of 2022, most notably while watching the Super Bowl where it kept a party of six comfortably warm. The dual skin to preheat the indrawn air works well. There was a lot of heat and significantly less smoke. This was a good size for our wood. It does spit quite a bit as it burns so hot, but the metal mesh spark guard prevents it from being dangerous. We cleaned it out after the ‘bowl and put the cover on. We may have used it one time subsequently, but the cold weather is short lived here. It’s now December 22 and we wanted to try it out again. It had been undisturbed for 10 months. The plastic weather cover was un damaged but overly brittle already. Underneath the metal spark restrictor cover had totally rotted out. We get a lot of heat here in arizona, and periods of rain in the summer, but most stuff suffers from being dried out, metal does not rot like this. See the photo, parts of the mesh have totally rotted to nothing. This item replaced an older fire pit. It’s metal spark guard is a similar mesh grill. It’s over 5 years old, and has stood, covered in its own plastic cover, a few feet from this one. And, although a bit rusty, is in very good condition. The body of this 1 year old product is also showing a lot of rust deterioration.I am very disappointed. At the price point of this product I expect to get 5-10 years from it. Not less than one.

Does what it’s suppose to. Kinda.
First off don’t cook marshmellows until after you first burn. The paint has to bake off. You’ll see what I’m saying after your first use.Doesn’t take well to the wood pellets makes a lot of smoke with those until the pit gets super hot. Same goes for wood.If you go into knowing it’s going to smoke and sometimes bad until it gets hot then it’s an ok pit. But it does smoke.

Truly Smokeless
The Dragonfire Smokeless Firepit is truly smokeless. We really enjoy a fire, in the evening, especially when we come into the house not smelling like smoke.

Less than impressed
The item arrived damaged. Customer support advised me to contact the seller and the seller advised me to contact customer support, and around we go! . I reached out to Dragonfire directly and though they did read my message, they did not respond.I ordered this item specifically for a party this coming weekend. I do not want to return and wait other three weeks only to end up with another damaged fire pit, as the damage is obviously caused by insufficient packaging. I chose to keep the product, now I am regretting my decision. The fire pit is NOT smokeless. I have kept the logs below the air vents and still it smokes like any regular cheap run of the mill fire pit would.
