Buena compra.

Well, I will have to wait until I actually wear it (it's summer where I live) to award the fifth star, but I imagine it's coming. I'd been looking at this jacket for a while, but the negative reviews, few though they be, kept scaring me off. Finally I decided to give it a shot, especially since Amazon returns are so ridiculously easy, and I am glad I did The quality is excellent, as is the fit, provided one understands that is a roomy, "classic" fit, not the skinny, streamlined look popular today. London Fog is a brand I remember well from my Boomer childhood, so it's being a Classic Fit came as no surprise, and indeed is what I wanted. I did the whole skintight clothing thing back in the 1970s, and have no wish to inflict that on myself or any innocent bystanders forced to look at me. Age is something one must accept gracefully. But I digress... A big complaint in a number of the reviews was the matter of wrinkles. The two jackets I purchased (in Dark Brown and Chili) were neatly folded in the original bags, and we're about as wrinkled as one would expect under the circumstances. A few minutes with a portable steamer, and they were both good to go. The mesh lining is of higher quality than I expected, as are the multiple and clearly useful pockets. The material is a microfiber that looks and feels like suede, and appears to be of good quality. The stitching is solid throughout, better than I have seen on many garments. Again it remains to be seen how they hold up out in the street, but so far I am quite pleased with these jackets, and will probably get one in blue as well. PS: Since I wrote this I decided to put this item to the test with regard to the alleged wrinkle problem. I washed and dried both jackets in accordance with the instructions on the label, and they came out fine, without any wrinkles worth mentioning. So, on the assumption (reasonable, I think) that they're not going to suddenly self-destruct under ordinary use, I am going to upgrade my review to give stars.
