ANDROID USERS MUST DO THIS TO GET THE BULBS TO PAIR!
As the Title Suggests. The process for setting up these bulbs is unnecessarily complex for android users, but once you do it, the actual use of the bulbs is simple. In order to get the devices to show connect to you wifi network, you MUST enable airplane mode on your android device and then enable your wifi afterward on the device WHILE KEEPING AIRPLANE MODE ENABLED. For whatever reason, the app will time out and fail to pair the device if you do not do this. this is in the instructions on the website when you got to troubleshoot the issue, but for whatever reason that have not updated the literature inside of the box itself. Even after you do this, the bulb may fail to connect to the network the first time you go to pair it. if that happens, simple turn it off and on 5 times and allow it to cycle through the light sequence before attempting to pair it again. As for the product itself, It is extremely bright and has a great quality to the light. I am replacing a house full of lohas smart bulbs, and the the difference in the quality and color of light in person is night and day. Its cleaner, its more even, and it fills a space better. The picture in the listing is the Lifx bulb on the right and the Lohas bulb on the left. Keep in mind you can often get 8 lohas bulbs from the price of a SINGLE lifx so they punch well above their weight class, but there is a difference and a noticeable one is a side by side comparison. The array of visible colors is much better and the accuracy of often hard to hit colors like yellows, vibrant greens, and pink are present and vibrant. The ONLY issue i have with these bulbs is the pairing process. There is no reason i can fathom that it needs to be this complex, but it is and for the result i am willing to pay the price of having to turn on airplane mode for the initial setup. no issued controlling these with my google enabled home devices. Would reccomend.

Perfect Smart Bulb Upgrade for Any IKEA Lamp
Bright, responsive, and pairs instantly—drops right into an IKEA lamp and turns it into a full smart lighting setup without any extra hubs or drama. Colors are rich, whites are clean, and it remembers your last setting instead of resetting every time you flip the switch. Exactly what a smart bulb should be: simple, reliable, and actually fun to use.

Solid Build Great Quality
If you are looking for top quality smart lighting solutions look no further. The built is solid and these brand of lights last years. I first purchased one of these back when they first were sold at Best Buy in the early 2010s that first bulb lasted around 6-7 years and it only died because the software was no longer supported. I have purchased other products like the Beam, the smaller 800lm a19 this model and the br32s and they are all solid and work perfectly. After more than 10 years I keep coming back for more and even purchased a couple bulbs as gifts. The only thing is that they don't offer as many products as hue of goove, like if you are setting up an immersive home theater system. But if you are just looking for something good, simple & lasting look no further than. Wait for a deal if you can because these are definitely not cheap.

Fabulous!
I have been using smart lights for some time now. I have almost my whole house outfitted with the things. Most of which are Phillips hue or wiz bulbs. (Because my hue bridge keeps telling me it can’t add anything else. I think scenes take a spot on the bridge or something. ) After seeing these, I decided to try them since they were on sale and they looked promising. Maybe it was a mistake because these are brighter and the light has a quality the hue bulbs don’t. I just ordered two more because I like them so much. Installation wasn’t too bad. I did need to rescue the little instruction booklet out of the rubbish though because, and this is very important, the barcode you need to scan to set up HomeKit is on that paper and if you don’t have it for the initial setup, I am unsure if you will be able to install them properly. There is a barcode to scan for each bulb. I am used to HomeKits oddities however and once I determined that I could hold my phone by the bulb until Alaska becomes a tropical rainforest and it still wasn’t going to work, I had to track it down. Once I had scanned the proper barcode for each bulb, it was super simple to install. Just a tip, if you have a lamp that takes more than one bulb and a switch cycle to turn it off, it might be more effective to simply unplug the lamp and plug it back in 5 times, rather than trying to cycle through it all 5 times. So anyhow, the pros are: no bridge. Fabulous saturated realistic full spectrum light. Compatibility with Siri and Alexa and most other voice assistants. I like the app too. Also, Amazon offers 90 days of free tech support, so if you have a problem connecting these, call Amazon. Cons: price. I admit these will likely last for what seems like forever but I thought hue was expensive.

DO NOT BUY! Lights Won't connect to their app. NO phone customer service.
All this - for just TWO A19 lights!! Worked for first year on the app, then stopped. I got so many excuses from them. I've been going round and round with them - via email only for a year. They reply every 2-3 days. No phone cust service. I finally got it to work this with my Alexa but I need their app to customize the colors. Alexa just gives me 4 basic whites from warm to cool. They have me jumping through hoops. Steps taken - more than once: -Deleted email from account -Created a whole new email so I can start fresh & set up on Lifx -Deleted/uninstall/reinstall app from EVERY app it connects to, -rebooted router several times, -Cleared cache on iPhone, -Hard reset the lights - well over 15x, -logged out of all accounts, including lifx online cloud, -set up a new, separate 2.4 Gh just for the light. -they keep saying go into wifi & connect to lights but They don't show up! The problem is - every thing I try still does NOT work. For as little as it costs them to make these, why can't they "exchange them" by sending me 2 new ones? I'd send these back so THEY can spend the time trying to get them to work. Today I got these 'canned' instructions, which I've already done before! I will try one more time & then I'm done. Toss these & buy another brand that is rated much better. "let's try a few steps to eliminate any possible glitches:" -Log into cloud.lifx.com and remove the light under the "Manage Devices" section. -Reboot your router by turning it off for 15 seconds, then turning it back on. -Perform a hardware reset on the light by following the instructions below *Start with the LIFX light on *Turn your light off and on at the wall 5 times slowly at consistent intervals *Your light will flash to signify the success of the hardware reset *All LIFX Color products will flash red > green > blue and white *The LIFX Mini Day & Dusk will cycle between warm > mix > cool *The LIFX Mini White light will dim > medium brightness > flash bright *You will now need to setup your light -Uninstall and reinstall the LIFX app on your phone. -Try setting up the light again with your phone in Airplane Mode. -If the steps above don’t resolve the issue, try connecting directly to the light’s Wi-Fi in your phone’s Wi-Fi settings before launching the app setup.

Very Bright Light
A little bit of a pain to set up. It is super bright, and works well with Alexa. The app has some cool features as well.

LIFX products are the best!
I purchased this to replace an old first generation color 1000 which did not have home kit compatibility. I’ve been loving it ever since. Great product from reputable company. I’ve noticed that it sometimes resets to default white color and illumination, but once I command it with Siri, it quickly adjusts to the last color settings. Not sure why it resets randomly at times, but it’s a minor inconvenience that’s not really a huge problem, since I have no problems reconnecting or resynching.

Noise/interference? No problem!
My air conditioning unit is located behind my bedroom wall. It’s older and produces a lot of electromagnetic interference. I also have metal framework in my walls which significantly affects Wi-Fi. Because of those issues, I was unable to find any smart bulbs that would stay connected in my bedroom. Something would always cause them to get knocked off line. I tried thread, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and none of it made much of a difference. For some reason this issue only affected smart bulbs. I worked with AI to try to find a solution and she recommended these bulbs. Allegedly they have better casing and a better antenna for such interference. I was skeptical at first because I had literally tried probably 20 different brands and none of them would stay connected for more than a day without going off-line and making me reset them. I am very pleased to report that these bulbs appear to be working perfectly. They have been online for almost 2 days straight and have not gone off-line at all. So if you’re having the same issue that I was having in regards to finding a smart bulb that would stay online despite a lot of interference, I highly recommend these bulbs. They’re more expensive, but it’s worth the extra money to have something that’s reliable. Don’t spend two years going back-and-forth between different brands of smart bulbs trying to figure out your issue. If you have metal framework in your walls, and /or you have an older air-conditioning unit that’s very close to where your smart bulbs are located, buy these bulbs.
