Bottled in USA. Contains mystery ingredients. Slick advertising to justify high price.
I believe that it is important to know what you’re putting in your body, and also I like to be informed before I write a review. My question for this one is “What the heck is Preforpro?” All I can find out is that it is a mixture of prebiotic substances, but since I have food allergies I want to know exactly what they are. Does it contain wheat, corn, yeast, mushrooms, tea, earthworms? It is a mystery. It could be fairy dust for all we know!I went to the Alternascript website and watched their slick video, which tells me nothing new. I navigated around the site, and found most of the site is the same way: graphically attractive, full of buzzwords, but without answers. I also went to the Deerland website (supplier of Preforpro and DE111) and it was more annoying: a cartoon of gut critters, for pete’s sake! This is not information, this is just marketing.I assume this is a good product. I tried it and did not have any noticeable negative side effects. I like that the maltodextrin is from rice instead of corn, since corn is one of my allergens. Also I like that this is stable at room temperature. There is a myth out there that good probiotics have to be refrigerated but that is not always the case. There are so much crazy marketing out there about supplements and most of it is fake. That is why I get frustrated when I try to track down true information. I understand that it cannot all fit on a small package, but it should be available on the website. By the way, the print on this bottle is extremely tiny and hard to read. The bottle arrives inside a box and there is a colorful fold-out page in the box. It advertises five products from Alternascript. It says that Nuculture has a patented delayed release capsule. The box tells us the capsule is vegetarian Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose. I have been taking various probiotics for over 30 years. Doctors and nutritionist have advised that I try them, and being an obedient patient I have done so. At first they were helpful in curing a yeast infection. After that, it was impossible to tell if they were helping. Perhaps they were hurting me. My digestion has gotten worse over the years, with SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) that does not respond to treatment, and an increasing number of food allergies and sensitivities. So now I wonder if it is all been a big hoax. The more I read, the more I realize that scientist know very little about the microbiome. It is a an active area of research and they are learning a lot. Some experts say to avoid probiotics if you have SIBO. I don’t know because experts do not agree. At the time that I write this, there is a note in the description on this page that says this contains caffeine and is not suitable for children. I believe that was just copied over from a different product. Some of their other products contain caffeine from green tea, so this may be a clerical error.

Good Probiotics
I prefer to get my probiotics from fermented foods especially milk kefir and kombucha. But that's not always possible so I like to have a good alternate supplement to ensure that I'm getting enough probiotics to keep my gut strong and healthy. I have suffered, sometimes severely, from gut imbalances and luckily discovered milk kefir and kombucha which I now make at home and has done absolutely a 180 on my gut. That said, I think these probiotics are quite good as you only have to take one capsule/day and it provides about 15 billion CFU from what looks like 5 strains of bacteria. I find these to be very beneficial in addition to eating fermented foods.
