The cables work just fine. If you're looking for an inexpensive set of optical audio cables, this is the way to go. All of the reviews talking about the poor sound quality should probably not have purchased the cheapest cables they could find on the market, I mean come on. If you have an optical connection and you need sound, this is the way to go. It's an optical connection, so it's going to be better than most others already, but yes, I'm sure a very picky person could find flaws, but if you're that picky, see my comment about not buying the cheapest cable out there. Mine also came with that suspicious device that I shouldn't plug into my computer. I'm kidding, it's a very handy, flexible USB light! For free!! Plug it into your laptop and you instantly have a keyboard light if you need one. Plug it into a charging block and you have a little light, anywhere you need one. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I got 2 decent optical cables for less than the price of most other single cables and they included a nifty free light.

Worked great for older soundbar and newer TV's that run off HDMI. Gotta be careful to get those correct but this is plug n play! Recommend

Very nice and extremely thin Toslink cables. These are super easy to zip-tie between a sound bar and television. I didn’t really need a second one, but it came in handy to replace a much bulkier one that I had in my home theater setup, making it easier when I have to dust behind the cabinet.

I like that they have shipped the cables with a cover over the optical end, to protect them from dirt and dust during shipping. The jacket on the cables is definitely thicker than the old one that this is replacing, and it seems that it would protect the optical cable. Well. There's not a whole lot to say about optical cables, they worked just fine, were fairly inexpensive, and I am pleased with their operation.

They work well and the price is right.

For the price , it is a great product. Having a spare will also come in handy. Works great, no issues.
