Good whistle; loud forward, quit backward
I am a water polo referee - a sport where there's a lot of whistling. I used various other professional whistles (Fox 40 variants), which are good, but my ears were suffering from the direction of the sound. This whistle projects a lot more sound forward, and is relatively "quiet" toward its user. It has a good sound, can easily be modulated and whistled in rapid succession at almost any level. The only improvement would be a soft mouth/lip guard for those users who need to keep the whistle in for prolonged time.

Good Whistle!
My husband really likes this whistle much better than his fox one. It has a more clear louder sound and he is a volleyball ref and its much better than his first one!!!!!

Good for price
Ideal for volleyball referees. Cheap but good.

REALLY easy to blow and loud
I was told by another volleyball that my Acme whistle was not loud enough. Saw another referee with this around his neck, and thought I'd try it. This whistle is REALLY loud, and really easy to blow. In fact, if there is one complaint is that it is so easy to blow that if you breathe through your teeth, you may end up with an inadvertent whistle. I can see why FIVB uses it in international tournaments.
