Should have bought it years ago lol
I love this pencil sharpeners. I wish I bought it first off. It takes my bigger pencils like Caran Dache luminance and museum aquarelle like a champ. I still have to test it out with my pastels but I am already satisfied with this.

perfect for art pencils of all mediums - charcoal, watercolor, pastel....
LOVE THIS! use it for art pencils - charcoal, watercolor, pastel, drawing, standard girth and fat ones like Conte. yes, some pencil tips break - not the sharpener's fault. if a lead is cracked inside the pencil - from dropping it, from rough handling with shipping - ANY sharpener, from a razor blade to a handheld to a fully mechanical - will not be a able to cure a cracked lead. as an artist with arthritic hands, anything that alleviates having to grip something with great strength and dexterity (specifically like sharpening pencils by hand with any razor-based technique or tool) is no longer an option. This swordfish model easily accommodates all the pencil sizes and mediums i use. Based on a very informative youtube video, i use a full width graphite pencil (as in no wood - just a graphite stick with a lacquer coating - does not need to be artist quality - just pure graphite)) about every 10th pencil. According to the well known artist & teacher of said videos, the manufacturer uses graphite as a lubricant. Adjustable to different pencil points with the small knob on the handle - very useful with different mediums and different drawing techniques. i do not aggressively crank down on the pencils. gentle turning and patience yields exactly the results i am looking for.
