Michael Schenker's Temple Of Rock - On A Mission: Live In Madrid Ltd 2db

While Michael Schenker is associated with Temple of Rock in name, this incredibly filmed concert in Madrid, Spain showcases over 40-years' of musical talent. With former Scorpions Hermann and Francis holding a tight as can be rhythm section (which I can attest to having seen this lineup in May 2015), the indomitable Wayne Findley on keys and rhythm and lead guitars, and Doogie White in fine vocal form. In three-years since the last DVD, this band has blossomed!Just when all the times I went into trance watching Michael play Rock Bottom five feet from me at concerts, or the reference point on Strangers in the Night, this version is truly worth the price alone. Just wow! What mastery and incredible hand strength to play trills and runs one-handed.The set, overall, is very strong. While some old favorites like Assault Attack are gone, we get Victim of Illusion and Rock My Nights Away to partially sate an appetite for MSG numbers. A few UFO tunes, some Scorpions, and behold... and lot of the very solid Temple of Rock tunes from their three studio releases to date. I happen to enjoy the new direction and don't live in the past (Michael's first four solo albums) and thoroughly enjoy his modern take on old classics.I love his tone and techniques, and despite owning the same Marshall amplifier and signature guitar, I cannot capture his signature sound. But every time I watch him play, I learn something and get better. He may not be trained in modes or theory like Vinnie Moore and others, but his confidence and stage presence are formidable.Speaking of energy, he's 61 and makes me, many years his junior exhausted and envious. I look forward to another album and tour soon, but until then, I can recommend this numbered deluxe set with two CDs and two DVDs.

This is a great concert containing a broad range of music from Michael's career. Michael's playing is excellent and full of fire. He really interacts a lot with the audience which is cool. His band is pretty tight. He grabbed the ex-Scorpions drummer and bassist. Doogie does a great job on the vocals covering 3 other singers besides his own material recorded with the band. He has great range and sings on pitch. His voice is more clean and doesn't have the slight rasp that Gary Barden has, but I like it.The video quality on this is a letdown. There are many blurry camera shots; at least 25% of the angles are out of focus when the video cuts into an angle. The camera angles change too often also.This is worth getting if you like the Temple of Rock releases but I think for the older MSG material, either the "MSG: Live in Tokyo 30th Anniversary", or the "Michael Schenker Fest: Live in Tokyo" are better choices.

I own almost the entirety of Michael Schenker's catalog and that includes his live albums. While this live album is no "Strangers in the Night", but then again I think that is "THEE" greatest live album ever, and has the definitive renditions of all the songs present on that recording.Still, if you're a fan of Schenker and live music, I think this is a great album to own. I also own Budokan, Rock Will Never Die both the original and remastered(two different albums actually), Unforgiven Live, and Live in Europe. And I'd say each of those concerts are worth owning, if you like Schenker, because there are always variations of the songs present. Not just different singers, but little flourishes here and there that give the songs a fresh and unique take. This is a solid live album, with a great track set. It does have some crossover between live in europe, but I think enough fresh stuff to merit a new listen. I don't know about you, but I am always amazed at how many times I've heard songs like Doctor Doctor, Lights Out, and Rock Bottom, but yet Schenker's approach always makes me feel like he always found a new note to through in, a new section to riff on, a new step in the dance. The blu ray picture quality was crisp and clear. Great sound quality too. So in summation great live album, by talented musicians.

I received this 4K Ultra DVD in 3 days on Prime 2 day shipment. Then when Inwas excited to see and hear it on my 75” Samsung QLED HDTV and Samsung Ultra HD Bluray player, I found out only the Stereo option worked and the Dolby 5.1 HD and Dolby Atmos both in Stereo and less sound than the Real Stereo option. So I have a replacement coming and hopefully is not symptomatic of this production run. I received the replacement dvd and found out it was in fact a glitch in my receiver I fixed and after watching the entire concert I have to say it is the Best produced concert DVD audio and Live feel picture front row I have as well as the best Concert performance!! You won"t be Disappointed!!! 5 STAR

This is a incredible bluray concert with excellent picture and sound. The pic is clear and the audio has three options 1. Dolby Atmos2. Dolby True 5.1 3. Pcm stereo I went with atmos and it sounded awesome I love the concerts recorded like this I have Roger waters the wall that was a awesome bluray also . Well back to micheal schenker temple of rock bluray the vocals were clear all the guitar and drum and bass and keyboards were clear I love the 7.1 and atmos concerts they have finally done more of these mixes on concerts. The movies are great but on a concert it brings a whole new rely to them. I am very happy with my purchase.

At first I didn’t get the 4K resolution, so I thought there is some problem with recordings or the disc itself. However the problem was with my UHD player’s settings. After changing some configurations in my player picture appeared in 4K quality. Awesome concert, very good sound recording (Atmos). Just have to change set up to Atmos in “sound” disc menu, as concert plays automatically in stereo mode.

Was bought for my husband. He loved it.
