Work Great - Much Easier To Use Versus Lever Style Board Straighteners
Great tool for straightening out deck boards. Very easy to use and very effective. I have used four of these for building decks over the past 6 months. I use them with a set of deck board spacers and the Deck Wedges do a fantastic job of securing the deck board against the spacers. I really like that you can drive these in place and then leave them as you secure the deck board. With spacers, these really help ensure that your deck boards maintain an even gap and stay in line. They are a lot easy to use versus the various lever style tools out there for straightening deck boards.

Simple Solution
This is just the type of solution that I look for when buying tools and other products. This should be in the tool box of all deck builders. I used this on a cedar deck with hidden fasteners. It was a good fit for the project.

It works!, Simple and effective.
Worked great, simple and effective. All of my deck boards were bowed at one end. Easy to use even with one person. It does mar the joist, but that didn't seam like a a big deal to me. I used it with the camo fastener system so I was unable to use the wedge on the same joist that I was securing. I was able to use it on the joist next to the one I was securing and draw the board tight.

Not for small gaps
Didn’t work for boards that didn’t have a large gap…returned it and bought the small spacers

Not worth the price
I was using 5/4 decking (thinner wood) and thought the wedge would work out great. The wedging part didn't always grip onto the 2 by 6 support beams (right below the top decking) enough to force slightly warped boards into position. After multiple tries, I got the idea to take the scissor jack from my truck and (turning it sideways and having a brace piece of wood for backing) was able to forcibly straighten the deck boards with little effort. Would not recommend purchase, especially if using 2 by 4 fir or cedar/redwood boards.

I personally don't like to leave gouged out wood behind even if it's ...
This is a simple and functional tool. My only criticism is that it gouges the 2X joist below in it's function. This would be unacceptable with an over head deck that one could see from underneath, Also the gouges could compromise the longevity of the joists if they're pressure treated or oiled for protection, allowing water to penetrate and promote rot. I personally don't like to leave gouged out wood behind even if it's never seen.

Exactly the tool i needed
Built a 12’ x 16’ deck and this little guy was a life saver. Other than the obvious marring to the boards(which are not seen except for two outside boards) this tool worked perfectly.

I am a contractor and this tool is wonderful and simple and lm buying another . Note I wouldn't use it if the underneath of deck were exposed, it marks the wood a little.
