About the book
This book is great. For a small book it has alot in it and is meant to be a ground to continue study through if one wished to go further. The author writes quite well and if you know the sporting life yourself the book is very interesting and even entertaining. It reminded me of many things I had forgotten and grew up around and it is straight to the point, no nonsense. Though one thing about it is that I don't know where to get the old ingredients mentioned like many colognes that once lined the shelves of the drug store when I was young - though if I look into it perhaps they still make things like Florida Water (a very popular cologne that I remember) but they still make Hi-karate so anything is possible. I enjoyed reading it as I believe it to be an important work - I do hope for it to be expanded one day. He does give directions to further study like web sites and other things.

Unexpected stuff in this book.
Despite its lofty title, this crafty book is filled with both great information and some weird information too. It’s clear the author was trying to appease everyone.

Good book but know what you are getting.
The sporting life is an interesting book regarding hoodoo principles and techniques for living in the “streets” or on the edge. It covers spells ranging from gambling all the way to prostitution.I want to point out what may at first seem like a problem with this book and many more that are published by luck mojo. Most of these books promote lucky mojo products. The names of these products are the traditional commercialized names. You don’t have to buy from lucky mojo. Other brands make these same named products too and you can even make them yourself. Just so you know, there is no consensus on the exact ingredients used in let’s say a Follow Me Boy oil. Each practitioner makes their own special blend and rarely reveals all the ingredients that go into a product. With that being said, this book is not a diy recipe formulary. Unless you have various oils, sachet powders or washes on hand, you won’t be able to follow all of the tips and techniques word for word. You will also need to be familiar with common hoodoo herbs and roots like deer’s tongue and High John the Conqueror Root.I use the book for inspiration because I will rarely if ever encounter the situations in this book. It might be a good reference for an actual practitioner who helps various types of customers. Also, I read a review claiming this book is geared more towards women. I beg to differ. What info is catered towards women was strictly for adult/sex work. There were plenty of spells, aftershaves and charms for men both hetero and homo that they can use on a regular basis for everyday life. Outside of that, the book touches on illegal business, keeping the law away and gambling among a few other things.

Gave a 3 because it’s catered to woman more. ...
Gave a 3 because it’s catered to woman more. We need more male catered books. Useing semen, urine, blood. The pimp slang is really from back in day. I know pimps, and hoes and the swagger had changed a lot. What about your next book be about the Gigalo?
