A fun game for my 4-year-old
We got this for our 4-year-old son for Christmas. It's a very cute little game that was easy for him to get the hang of. It comes with, as other reviewers have stated, cardboard cutouts with hay bales printed on them behind which you are supposed to hide your pieces (they're very easy to peek over). Whenever you draw an animal, you have to open the barn and draw one out without looking. These two aspects of the game can be challenging for a preschooler, but then so can hide and seek, where they can also easily peek while counting. All in all, we found it to be a lot of fun and a breeze for him to learn how to play. He enjoyed putting the animals in the barn, on his turns, and the small size of this game makes it simple to store and for him to carry around without any trouble. We didn't see much educational value in this game, for HIM in particular other than learning the basics of game play for the grown-up version of Uno. However, this is only because he is already well acquainted with his colors and which animals are which. For children still learning their colors and animals, I definitely think this game could help to do that in a fun way.

A Great FIRST Game For a Toddler
I bought this as my two and a half year old's first board game, and it is GREAT for that purpose. The barn and the animals are fun - he likes to carry them around, take them out and play with them on their own. As a result of his interest in the different parts of the game, he has been excitedly asking to play this each day since we got it (about five days ago). He LOVES knocking down an animal into the barn and replacing it with his own. He's learning colors and matching (which he was already pretty good with), but more importantly, he's learning to take turns. That said, there are flaws with this game. It's hard to "hide" your animals from another player with the included materials unless you are all sitting around a table. My little guy and I usually plop down on the floor, so I don't even use the haystacks (also, they are made of cardboard, which my son is likely to destroy). If you are serious about the game, though, you can find ways to make it work. Using a folder - like the ones they sell in the school supplies aisle - would probably do the trick. Also, its very tempting to look at the animals when you are picking them out of the barn. Again, if you are playing the game seriously (and not just using it to help your child learn about colors, taking turns, etc), try putting the animals in a bag and reaching in to pick them out. That sounds like a lot of extra work to make a game work right, and it probably is. But, bottom line, my son really likes this. So, I feel like it was a good purchase overall. Pros: *Fun pieces that will hold the attention of little ones *Good way to improve matching skills and color recognition *Knocking the animals into the barn is a bit hit with my active little guy Cons: *Flimsy haystacks that don't really serve any purpose *Easy to "cheat" and pick animals that you want/need *Good first game, but probably won't hold the interest of a child who is experienced with board games.

Awesome fun for Little Ones
We bought Uno Moo to play with our 3 year old. He loves the game and we love that we have finally found a game the entire family can play. He loves to Skunk people and make someone draw 2 balls. It's a great game and is helping him match colors and animals, He also likes to make the sound of the animal. As he grows older this game will be great to help him figure out strategy. One Caveat: Cardboard Haystacks. Who gives cardboard to 3 year olds and expect it to stay in shape. I was expecting a thin plastic where the balls could easily stand up. However, we love the plastic carrying case barn which makes it easy to take the game to Grandma's house on on plane rides. This game will also stay relevant as he gets older. Really glad someone is starting to make fun games for toddlers and preschoolers.

Fun game but poor design
My preschooler loves this game, and it's a fun way to practice colors and animals. However, part of the game is drawing new pieces out of the barn, and it's way to easy to cheat and pick the pieces you want, which makes it difficult to play fair.

Not as advertised!!!
This product was advertised as coming with haystacks. It's the reason I payed extra; to get the haystacks. When we opened up the box, there were no haystacks.

Nice Idea
I purchased this barnyard UNO game for my 4 year old. There are too many pieces, the cardboard "barnyard" fences are flimsy, and the game is too complicated for a four year old to enjoy. She understood the game, but it just wasn't fun. We had more fun naming the colors of the playing pieces, identifying the animals, and sorting the colors than playing the game as intended. I am giving this game to Goodwill. Maybe somebody else's house needs more clutter.

A great game for young kids!!!
My kids love this game! My son is 3 and loves playing. My daughter is 1 and loves to knock the animals into the barn and carry the barn around the house. I gave this game 4 stars because the hay bales are made out of cardboard and are almost impossible to keep in good condition with small children. Also, I feel that the door the animals sit on could be a little stronger. The kids can get pretty rough with it and I am afraid that it is going to get broken. Over all this game is a huge hit!

I have played Uno in the past and when I saw this I just had to get it for my 3 year old. The game is very easy for a 3 year old to understand and get a grasp of. It encourages children to look and listen, think about what they need to do next. Teaches colour matching and and recognition (of matching animal faces). I gave it a 3 for durability because the 'fences' used to hide your playing pieces are made of card and are very flimsy. They could be torn easily or if they got wet would be damaged. All the other pieces are very good sturdy quality and can all be packed away in the barn. Apart from that it is a fabulous quiet little game and holds my 3 year old's attention for some time! All in all a must have game for rainy day's!!

My bright little grand-daughter (2yrs 10 months) loves it. It takes her games prowess to another level and is not boring for adults either. Well made and encourages early strategic play.
