AMERICAN ASSASSIN

Vince Flynn doesn't disappoint with this superbly smart, detailed, high-action spy thriller that makes you feel that you have security clearance to even read the book. Flynn's unparalleled access into the minds and motivations of his characters and the fast-paced timing of his novels, makes this a gold star winner. Frankly, you can't go wrong with any of his books, and American Assassin is no exception. This is the kind of book that you can tell who are the good guys and who are the bad guys, and the bad guys are not nice people at all! When death comes to them the reader feels that it's just what they deserved. Rapp gets in and out of some very tricky situations, somewhat on the par of a contemporary James Bond, because the reader knows that, in the end, he will emerge as the survivor of whatever action has taken place in the previous pages. I'm hooked on Rapp, and can't wait to read more of his adventures!

This book gives a reader what he likes to read.. No reader likes their hero getting hit or hurt.. Keeping protagonist strong is main strength of the book..

This novel by Vince Flynn is first in Mitch Rapp series although written after he has written ten novels featuring Rapp. It is introduction to how Mitch Rapp became a deadly assassin from a superb athlete. About the novel is very well written in Book Description.This novel focuses much on the training of Rapp under Hurley and also deals with psychological profile of Mitch Rapp and shows transition of a college graduate into a world class assassin. Flynn has got in him to make a character very real and goes in depth to every character's thinking process.Till now I have read 4 books in Rapp series and I find this book disappointing when compared to Kill shot and other books in series.I'm a huge Flynn fan but will not recommend this novel to anyone who wants to start reading Flynn, it's better to start with Term Limit & then Kill Shot and may be then you will be able to read this book and find it interesting.The language of book is pretty straight forward and it's definitely not a page turner but still I could maintain the pace owing to use of simple words.If you have read this book and find it interesting and page turner then definitely you would love other books in Rapp series and would read'em in one sitting.

In time delivery. Slightly damaged cover.

First and foremost it was a late delivery. This was the first time that happened so that is something I am willing to ignore. Secondly, I did not get the same book cover. Thirdly, the book was kind of a disappointment for they had various grammatical errors all throughout and I really cannot blame the author for that. And lastly, for all the hype the writer provided from the very beginning, the ending was very disheartening.However it was a decent read.

Die Charaktere sind gut entwickelt und der Autor hat eine großartige Arbeit geleistet, um Mitch Rapp als eine vielschichtige Figur zu gestalten, die überzeugend und realistisch wirkt.Die Handlung ist gut durchdacht und lässt den Leser bis zum Ende im Dunkeln, was die Entwicklungen und die Wendungen der Geschichte angeht. Die Beschreibungen der Orte und Ereignisse sind detailliert und gut recherchiert, was dem Buch eine authentische Note verleiht. I have now found a new series to follow. A great introduction and well formed characters.Even at this early stage, you get a real 'feel' for the protagonists and will now make my way through the series.

C'est la première fois que je lis un thriller de ce genre et j'ai adoré, c'était prenant et plein d'action.

Seit langer Zeit habe ich mal wieder einen Mitch Rapp-Roman in die Hand genommen. Die Rezensionen - insbesondere auf Amazon.com - sind ja sehr durchwachsen und dieser Eindruck bleibt auch bei mir hängen.Wir lernen zunächst einen jungen Mitch Rapp kennen, der durch die ebenfalls junge Irene Kennedy angeheurt wurde. Er wird bei ihrem Onkel, der, wen wundert es, ebenfalls beim CIA arbeitet, ausgebildet. Diese Beziehung der Beiden läuft alles andere als harmonisch... Hurley fühlt sich durch Rapp an sich selbst in jungen Jahren erinnert. Nach etwa einem Drittel des Buches verlassen wir das Ausbildungscamp und begleiten Hurley, Rapp und einen anderen jungen Anfänger auf ihren Aufträgen durch Europa und Asien. Natürlich unterlässt es auch hier Rapp nicht von Schwierigkeit zu Schwierigkeit zu wanken.Spannende Szenen in guter alter Vince Flynn-Manier wechseln sich ab. Nur leider verliert sich Vince Flynn ab und zu ins Geschwafel und ich habe mich dabei erwischt, ohne zu Lesen einzelne Seiten vorzublättern, was mir bei den letzten Romanen vom ihm, die ich gelesen habe, nie passiert ist. Zwar mögen diese Szenen, wenn ich einzelne Passagen dann doch kurz angerissen habe, für den Hintergrund der Personen wichtig sein, aber dafür lese ich zumindest kein Mitch Rapp-Roman. Und obwohl ich vorgeblättert habe, hatte ich nie das Gefühl, es würde im Fluss des Buches etwas fehlen. Mitch Rapp ist wie ein Action-Movie; ich verbinde ihn mit amerikanischen Patriotismus, keinen Nachfragen, wenn das "Richtige" getan werden muss, ... eben immer einfach geradeaus. Diese Szene gibt es und sie sind spannend und schnell erzählt und dabei kommt man auf seine Kosten. Davon bitte mehr. Diese Szenen sind auch wieder so gut geschrieben, dass man die langsamen Szenen schnell wieder vergisst und das Buch dann doch etwas über dem Durchschnitt ansiedeln sollte.Mitch Rapp-Fans kommen wieder auf ihre Kosten.
