Crystals

I am new to crystal "healing". I collected rocks and crystals as a kid, but only recently started learning about chakra cleaning and the mystical and mysterious aspects about crystals. I am a practicing Nichiren Buddhist, so I don't normally believe in these things - but crystals are pretty and I feel a certain kind of way when I wear different ones, so I want to look into this further. I must say I love this book for this purpose! I checked out some other books from the library - they did not have photos, or the colors in the pictures were off, or there wasn't any scientific data (such as where the crystals are found geographically and how they are formed). This book has all that - and more! Tips on how to use certain crystals to harness different powers within yourself, etc. I like the color tabs on the sides of the pages for helping to identify crystals I have in my collection but don't know what they are yet. I also like the index - a very good, short index! I am a librarian with a professional history working with indexes, so I appreciate this. I think this might be the first review in 5+ years I have written on Amazon! I like this book that much! I returned today to purchase another copy of this book for my 12 year old niece. She collects rocks, and is not so much into "magickal" thinking - but I think she will use this book (and her friends will think she is cool for having it).

I bought this for my niece who is just starting to get interested I. Rocks. The pictures were amazing and the information the book contained was very interesting. Overall very happy with this purchase.

honestly this book is great for references, it’s a little more text book than metaphysical when it comes down to the breakdown of each crystal but there are still mentions of the metaphysical properties. this book is color coded and extremely beautiful. highly recommend

The book is beautifully photographed with detailed gem information... and the type of origin, healing properties, and meaning of each I wanted. However, I ordered this book for a gift. It came loose and unwrapped in a bigger box with one other item. When I opened the shipping box, the book was shoved into the flap of the box, the cover had scratches on it, which really show up against the black, and a group of pages were curved bent at the corners. I have it under something heavy now, hoping I can flatten the pages again. If not, I'll either keep it for myself, or return it. I will most likely order it again, either way, by itself so hopefully it comes in a smaller box with protective plastic or something so it won't slide around, get near dog-eared, and come with a scratched cover. If you're looking for uses, and meanings of crystals/gemstones, it's a great book!

This is a fantastic book for me because I’m just starting out with crystals. I love the history and facts sections, as well as the healing sections! It’s a great all around beginner book. I wish this author would produce another one that encompasses more crystals and specifically, agate types.

I like this one. It's simple enough and very well done. I like using the colors to identify each group making it easier to locate the crystals within the book. Though she did not put a zillion crystals/minerals in her book, I don't need to know any more than what she has listed. Love the pictures. It has all you need to know in a nice, neat, compact book that is easy to grab for reference. This one is now my favorite and stays close. Good job.

This is the perfect introduction book on crystals. It provides background & context for using crystals without being overwhelming or diving too deeply. Perfect book for the complete novice - however - if you are beyond novice status perhaps this is not the book for you.
