Purchased this to take notes during a conference. Lap desk worked great to allow me to sit comfortably and have a sturdy base to take notes on. Easy to carry and lightweight.

I’ve spent over a decade trying to find the perfect products for a laptop lap desk and a book stand so I can do my homework in comfort. This product does both and it’s better than any other lap desk or book stand I’ve ever bought. I bought a black Mind Reader lap desk a couple years ago to keep in my car for use wherever I went without worrying about it getting dirty. It’s held up great and still looks exactly the same. It’s got a set of cushions on the bottom that angle the lap desk towards you without the usual legs most other lap desks have (which can dig into your thighs after a while). The surface lifts opens like a trash can lid, and underneath it adjusts so you can hold whatever you’re reading at a specific angle. This is nice when you’re positioning a laptop to be more ergonomic. It also has a ledge so whatever you’re reading doesn’t fall off. The ledge is sturdy enough to hold just about anything you might want to read. As you can see in my pictures, you can use it to hold small books if you have a book clip so you don’t have to tire your hands out holding it (especially important if you’re also typing), but it also holds dense thousand-page books, large hardcover textbooks, and 2-inch filled binders. I only have two sizes of laptops, so I can only confirm for sure that it can handle up to 15-inch laptops. I absolutely love this product and use it regularly. I highly recommend it for college students and those who work from home. I do wish is that the cushions and the base they’re attached to came in different colors (just like the surface lid does). I also wish the cushions were removable, machine washable, and replaceable as I know that some day they will get dirty or start to fall apart and you can’t put this in the washing machine or switch them out for new ones. Once they go bad, I’ll just have to toss the whole product. Who knows if this seller will still have these in stock by then. I hope so as I’d like to always keep at least one in my office.Don’t bother with other lap desks. This is the one to buy.
