AdafruitGemma - Miniature Wearable Arduino-like Electronic Platform

Awesome item to make your own wearables! I ordered this to make a Space Invaders LED pendant Adafruit featured on their site but I'm still waiting on a few other parts before I can start. This was a V2 with the on/off switch and microUSB plug in case you were wondering. I filed down the edge a bit to remove excess from where it was punched out from the PCB sheet.Look up Gemma V2 on Adafruit Industries website for full details about how to set it up. You will need to add Adafruits boards to Arduino IDE or they provide a preinstalled version on their site. You will also need to install a driver (also on their site) for USBTinyISP if you are on Windows. Don't forget to press the Reset/Bootloader button when uploading your sketches.It was sold out on Adafruit's website so I checked Amazon. Chicago Electronics Distributors was who I ordered this item from. I've ordered from them before so no worries as all my orders have arrived on time in the past!

Made an RGB LED tie with this as the brains. I was a little worried since some reviews make its longevity seem questionable but nothing's broken so far and I'm using the switch as the main power switch so it works for me. I'll update if there are any problems.

Great and small microcontroller. Both of mine stopped working and had to upgrade to MO

Order 5 Gemmas for a project. One had a broken power switch, which renders the Gemma useless. :(4 out of 5 is OK, but left me in a bit of a lurch on my project. I had soldered it up before I noticed - see picture.

Works perfectly for my little house with lit windows! Can't wait to order 10 more for projects!
